Bank of America has appointed a Head of Digital Assets and AI, creating a single leadership role that pairs oversight of digital assets with artificial intelligence as the bank advances its crypto strategy.The move consolidates two of the bank’s most closely watched innovation areas under one mandate, according to Crypto Briefing. Bloomberg Tax separately reported that the bank shifted a top trader to oversee crypto strategy across the firm, in its reporting on the restructuring.The role is framed as a strategic executive appointment rather than a product launch, linking artificial intelligence leadership directly with digital-asset oversight inside the bank.

Although easing US inflation has boosted risk sentiment across financial markets, $XRP continues to face resistance as retail participation remains modest and spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) inflows slow.Investor sentiment improved after the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell 0.4% month-over-month in June on a seasonally adjusted basis, marking the largest monthly decline since April 2020.

Lower inflation has strengthened expectations that financial conditions could become more supportive for risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.However, confidence across the crypto market remains cautious.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index rose only slightly to 30 from 24, remaining firmly in Extreme Fear territory.

The reading suggests investors are becoming less pessimistic but have yet to embrace a broad risk-on environment.

Derivatives data points to a decline in retail activity. According to CoinGlass, $XRP perpetual futures Open Interest (OI) is down by 2.3% in the last 24 hours and now reads $2.4 billion.The Open Interest remains below the June peak of $2.7 billion, indicating that speculative demand has yet to fully recover.

Institutional interest appears even softer. Data from the CoinGlass ETF page shows $XRP spot ETFs have recorded limited trading activity throughout the week, with $6.8 million in inflows recorded on Thursday.

However, the cumulative net inflows remain at $1.5 billion and total net assets stand at approximately $1 billion.

Bitcoin Sentiment Is Turning Bullish — But It’s Too Early to Celebrate: Report


The Bitcoin bottom may be in — but don’t get your hopes up: It might struggle to go up anytime soon, according to one investment firm.

A Friday report from European asset management firm CoinShares said that investors last week threw fresh cash at Bitcoin — and other crypto — exchange-traded products, indicating a change in sentiment.

But other factors may hold digital asset markets from going higher, James Butterfill, head of research at CoinShares, wrote.

“We have said for some time that Bitcoin has probably reached, or is close to, its floor,” the report read. “But we see no significant upside potential from here.”

The report added that current macroeconomic headwinds, such as the US bombing Iran and rising oil prices, could see inflation go up again.

Bitcoin’s price was up earlier this week, hitting a seven-day high of $65,501 on news that inflation in the US was softer than expected. It has since erased those gains and was recently trading for $64,010.

The price of Bitcoin has typically done well on news that inflation is coming down because investors expect interest rates to come down. But Butterfill said that “a rate cut does not look probable at this stage.”

Ethereum’s [$ETH] attempted rebound faced rejection at $1,944 three days ago. The pullback pushed $ETH to $1,819 before it recovered slightly.

At press time, Ethereum traded near $1,823 after falling 3.6% over 24 hours. The decline attracted substantial whale activity, although sellers retained control of the market.

CryptoQuant’s Spot Average Order Size recorded large whale orders for seven consecutive days.

However, the metric captured both buying and selling activity. Therefore, it confirmed whale participation without establishing a clear direction.

Lookonchain also reported that two newly created wallets withdrew 20,000 $ETH from Coinbase Prime. The withdrawal was worth $37.72 million and occurred in two batches of 10,000 $ETH.

According to the tracker, the associated whale had accumulated aggressively during the previous three days.

On the 16th of July, the whale purchased 30,000 $ETH, worth $57.6 million. Its three-day accumulation reached 89,396 $ETH, valued at approximately $164.88 million.

Buying during a decline suggested that the whale expected stronger prices. However, one entity’s activity could not confirm broader confidence.

CoinGlass data showed that Ethereum’s Spot Netflow remained negative for two consecutive days.

At press time, Spot Netflow stood at -$23.6 million, compared with -$49 million the previous day. Therefore, net outflows continued but slowed considerably.

Negative Spot Netflow indicated that more $ETH left exchanges than entered them. This trend aligned with the reported whale withdrawals. Even so, Exchange Outflows alone could not establish that every withdrawal represented accumulation.

Whales absorbed some selling pressure, but Ethereum’s broader structure remained weak.
