Optimism jumps 11% – But can OP clear THIS KEY resistance now?

OP surged 11% after breaking its bullish reversal neckline as trader activity accelerated sharply.
Optimism [OP] climbed 11.14% to $0.1656 after trading volume surged 88.31% to $233.1M, reflecting a sharp increase in speculative participation around OP. 

The rally emerged as buyers returned aggressively following weeks of compressed price action near the $0.12 region. 

Trading activity accelerated rapidly during the breakout phase, while bullish sentiment strengthened across both spot and derivatives markets. 
However, OP still traded below its recent local high near $0.1718, showing that sellers continued defending higher resistance levels despite the strong recovery. 

The latest expansion also aligned with improving market structure across the broader altcoin sector, which supported stronger risk appetite around high-beta assets like Optimism.

Altcoin participation expands, though Bitcoin still retains strength to reclaim broader market liquidity.
Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) has begun to weaken after reaching the 60% zone during the recent market expansion. That slowdown suggests capital concentration around Bitcoin may gradually be fading.

Earlier cycles have shown similar transitions across broader cryptocurrency markets.

During 2017, dominance collapsed from nearly 95% toward 35% as Ethereum [ETH] and smaller-cap assets absorbed rising liquidity. That rotation later fueled one of crypto’s strongest altcoin rallies.
Dominance briefly climbed near 70% before sharply reversing below 40% as speculative appetite expanded beyond Bitcoin [BTC]. Meanwhile, Bitcoin continued rallying toward the $60,000 region, showing capital rotation can coexist with broader market strength.

However, falling dominance also increases volatility exposure. If liquidity weakens again, speculative capital may quickly retreat from altcoins back toward Bitcoin and stable assets.

Decentralized finance, often called DeFi, has changed in recent years. In earlier years, it promised easy access to money tools, high returns, and freedom from banks. Many people joined because of the chance to earn high profits. Over time, serious problems appeared. These problems came from risky borrowing, repeated use of the same funds, and returns that looked large but had weak support.

Now the sector stands at an important stage. It no longer focuses only on fast profit. A shift toward safety, stability, and real value has begun.

A major issue in DeFi came from a method where users reused the same funds repeatedly. A person would deposit crypto, borrow against it, then use the borrowed money to repeat the same step. This cycle could continue many times.

This process increased returns on paper, but it did not create real value. It only increased the risk.Recent studies show that many users still follow this method even when rules require extra collateral. Risk often stays within a small group of tokens, which makes the system fragile. When prices fall, many positions fail at the same time. This leads to fast liquidations.

Another study shows that high borrowing often reduces final profit instead of raising it. Loss risk becomes much higher, especially for people with less experience. This shows that the

Capital rotation deepens beyond Bitcoin leadership



As BTC.D gradually lost momentum, liquidity started flowing deeper into the broader altcoin market.

Adding to this, AMBCrypto had earlier reported on falling Tether [USDT] and BTC. D further reinforced this shift, signaling capital was rotating into altcoins instead of remaining concentrated in defensive assets.

That shift became clearer through 2024 and 2025 as the volume ratio steadily pushed above 0.30, signaling expanding participation beyond Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana [SOL], Ripple [XRP], and BNB.



Earlier cycles reflected similar market behavior.

During 2021, the ratio surged beyond 1.5 while Ethereum rallied near $4,800. That expansion showed speculative confidence was strengthening as traders increasingly rotated toward smaller-cap assets for higher returns.

As yellow clusters intensified, short-term altcoin volume repeatedly exceeded the yearly average.

This reinforced that capital rotation was becoming sustained rather than temporary, while broader market participation steadily deepened beneath the surface.

However, overheated conditions also increased fragility. Once liquidity tightened during 2022, the ratio collapsed below 0.20 as speculative capital rapidly retreated.
