Bitcoin’s selloff picked up speed over the past two sessions, with price breaking down through several key technical levels as bearish momentum strengthened.
On the daily chart, BTC slid from the mid-$84,000 range to around $78,700, wiping out roughly $5,400 in value — a 6.4% decline in just two days. The move followed a failed rebound attempt near local resistance, after which sellers quickly stepped back in and drove a decisive continuation to the downside.
Key Levels Give Way
From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin has now broken below its rising support trendline that had been intact since late December. Once that structure failed, price moved swiftly through a cluster of horizontal supports between $86,000 and $82,000, offering little resistance along the way.
BTC has also fallen well below the 50-day EMA, currently near $90,000, which now flips into a clear overhead resistance zone rather than support.
Selling Pressure Intensifies
The breakdown was accompanied by rising volume, confirming strong seller participation. This kind of volume expansion typically points to forced liquidations and rapid deleveraging, rather than a slow, low-interest pullback.
So far, the daily candles show very limited dip-buying, with no obvious reversal signal emerging yet.
Momentum Still Weak
Momentum indicators reflect the pressure. The RSI has dropped toward the mid-20s, placing Bitcoin in deeply oversold territory. While such conditions can trigger short-term relief bounces, they don’t automatically signal that the broader downtrend is over.
What Comes Next?
From a market structure perspective, the next meaningful support zone appears in the low-to-mid $70,000 range, which lines up with prior consolidation areas and the lower boundary of the current descending
