Rising oil prices, heavy long positioning, and a macro-driven risk environment place Bitcoin at a fragile inflection point.



With a 14.25% weekly pullback in oil prices, risk assets may look ready for a strong week.

But if that’s the base case, it might be worth thinking twice. From a technical standpoint, the April 6-13 weekly window delivered a clear reversal in oil, while Bitcoin [BTC] closed up 2.53%, marking the first such divergence since the West Asia crisis began in early March.

On the macro side, this wasn’t random price action. The divergence came after ceasefire developments briefly pushed crypto back into risk-off territory. However, a fresh post from U.S. President Donald Trump reignited market volatility after he referenced the possibility of “blockading” the Strait of Hormuz.

Wall Street private credit crisis looms as $20B exit wave triggers fresh withdrawal limits threatening Bitcoin liquidity

Redemption pressure is forcing gates across major private credit funds, tightening liquidity and exposing structural fragility in a $1.7T market.

After rumblings last month, the pressure point is no longer confined to underwriting quality, isolated borrower stress, or a few awkward redemption notices buried in fund updates.

The market is now dealing with something more consequential: a live collision between illiquid assets, semi-liquid fund structures, and investors who want cash back at the same time. That shift is now visible across some of the industry’s largest platforms.

Barings Private Credit Corp. capped withdrawals after investors sought to redeem 11.3% of shares in the first quarter. Apollo Debt Solutions limited repurchases after requests reached 11.2%. Ares Strategic Income Fund hit the same wall after investors asked to pull 11.6%.

The scale of the demand for exits is now large enough to change the frame. The Financial Times reported that investors sought to pull more than $20 billion from private credit funds in the first quarter. Then, the Wall Street Journal reported nearly $14 billion in requested withdrawals across a group of private-credit funds.

Capital is trying to leave, and managers are relying on quarterly caps, enlarged tenders, affiliated support, and fund mechanics to manage the gap between redemption demand and actual liquidity.

The next layer is where this starts to look less like a fund-specific issue and more like a market transition. Blue Owl disclosed that investors sought to redeem 21.9% of shares in Blue Owl Credit Income Corp. and 40.7% in Blue Owl Technology Income Corp., with both funds limiting repurchases to 5%.

A major development earlier in March saw U.S. regulators—including the SEC and CFTC—classify XRP as a digital commodity, effectively ending years of legal uncertainty.
However, instead of triggering a sustained rally, the market reacted with a sell-the-news event, as traders locked in profits following the announcement.
This highlights a key theme in the current cycle: good news is being absorbed quickly without sustained upside follow-through.
Technical Outlook Turns Bearish
From a chart perspective, momentum is weakening:
20-day moving average has crossed below the 50-day (bearish crossover)
Price has broken below the $1.43 support level
RSI has slipped into bearish territory
If downside pressure continues, XRP could test:
$1.12 (February low support)
$1.00 psychological level if selling accelerates
Long-Term Bulls Still See Major Upside Potential
Despite near-term weakness, some analysts remain optimistic.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez argues that XRP may be forming a long-term multi-year structure that could eventually lead to a breakout exceeding 500% upside, if key resistance levels are broken.
