This strong risk appetite in equities typically flows into higher-beta assets like $BTC next.

Bitcoin Nears Key Market Regime Shift

On May 1, 2026, according to sources, $BTC is close to a potential market shift as key on-chain metrics flash early regime-shift signals. CryptoQuant, via X, stated that “a sustained reclaim of the Realized Price, paired with the MVRV stabilizing and trending above 1.0, would signal a structural regime change.”

This setup, tracked via the Short-Term Holder MVRV indicator, is widely viewed as a key transition signal from bearish to bullish market conditions. Historically, this combination has marked phases where weaker holders exit the market while conviction buyers step in, setting the stage for major recoveries.

US Stocks Added $7T, Fueling Crypto Catch-Up Rally

Notably, US stocks added $7 trillion in April 2026, as the S&P 500 rose 11.51% and the Nasdaq gained 15.48%. This marked their strongest monthly performances since 2020, lifting both indices to record monthly closes.

Referring to the debates surrounding the 1973 War Powers Resolution, which requires the president to obtain authorization from Congress within 60 days, Trump described the regulation as “completely unconstitutional.”

President Trump, noting that the US administration has never requested such authorizations in the past, signaled that he would not seek formal approval from Congress in this case either. While some members of Congress argue that the 60-day period has expired given that the conflict began on March 2nd, the administration claims that the ceasefire process has halted this period.

Surprising Cryptocurrency Ban News from Brazil, Which Approved the World’s First Solana ETF!

Brazil, which had been taking positive steps regarding Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies, has now delivered negative news.

Even Brazil, which approved the first Solana (SOL) ETFs, has banned the use of cryptocurrencies on its official cross-border payment network.

The Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) announced in a statement that the use of cryptocurrencies in international payments is prohibited.

With this ban, the Brazilian central bank has tightened its control over cryptocurrency fund flows.

According to the decision, regulated electronic currency (eFX) providers will now only be required to use traditional foreign exchange transactions or non-resident Brazilian real-denominated accounts for international transfers. They will not be able to use crypto assets for cross-border transfers and transactions.

It was stated that this measure does not aim at a general ban on cryptocurrencies, but rather at preventing the entry of crypto assets such as stablecoins into the payment system in order to increase the efficiency of currency regulation.

The statement noted that 90% of cross-border remittances are linked to stablecoins, increasing the risk of tax evasion and money laundering.

The central bank also stated that stablecoins issued abroad without oversight could weaken the country’s monetary sovereignty, signaling that it may remove them from the domestic market or impose stricter restrictions in the future.

The PYUSD stablecoin may benefit immensely from PayPal’s revamped strategy and crypto as a main operational pillar. The stablecoin has achieved impressive growth so far.

For context, the PYUSD stablecoin’s market cap was less than $500 million at its lowest level in 2025. It has since grown aggressively and peaked as high as $4.21 billion.

The PYUSD stablecoin market cap dropped sharply from $4.17 billion on 19 April, to $3.36 billion by 30 April.

These developments officially cement PayPal’s position as one of the top crypto stocks. The stock’s weekly chart revealed that it has been on a recovery trend since February. This was after encountering a significant discount (Roughly 52%) from January 25 to its latest local low in February.

The PayPal stock price bounced from a 12-month low of $38.46 and has to a $50 price tag at the time of observation. Only time will tell whether the recently reorganized structure will lead to a significant boost in revenue.

XRPL Validator Spotlights New XRP Escrow Service as Ripple Expands

In an X post, Vet stated that “XRP escrows on steroids” might be coming soon. He indicated that this feature will combine zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) and smart escrows (programmable Escrows), which he described as a powerful combo. The XRPL validator further explained that this escrow service will be similar to using off-chain data via Chainlink in a ZKP that the network verifies natively. This will enable token escrows to be triggered by verified off-chain events.

As to what is needed to implement this on Ripple’s XRP Ledger, the validator stated that they will need ZKP host functions and Smart Escrows. It is worth noting that the XRPL recently integrated native ZK technology, enabling on-chain privacy for institutional investors, which network stakeholders described as the missing piece for institutional adoption.

Ripple’s developers also continue to put forward new upgrades to boost the XRP Ledger’s adoption. This includes upgrades such as the Permissioned DEX and domains for institutional investors to trade in a regulated environment. Meanwhile, proposed upgrades, such as a native lending protocol to boost XRP’s use case, are being considered.

Vet highlighted how these upgrades already appear to be paying dividends. In another X post, he noted that there has been a big increase in RWA issuance on the XRP Ledger across the board. The XRPL validator further remarked that the network is becoming a stronger distribution platform for asset issuers, with new XRP integrations every week.
