Global crypto firms are doubling down on Africa to capture the opportunities associated with massive adoption across the region.

Blockchain.com is the latest to join the fray, announcing expansion into the West African country of Ghana after a successful debut in neighboring Nigeria. The firm runs a crypto exchange and brokerage services for retail and institutional clients.

According to the firm, it recorded 700% growth in Nigeria. It sees a similar opportunity in Ghana, with Owen Odia, General Manager, Africa at Blockchain.com citing the significant interest across the region.

“Our growth in Nigeria over the past year has demonstrated the immense potential for digital assets across the African region.”

Beyond being a tool to hedge against local currency volatility, users in the region also leverage crypto for payments, remittances, and savings.

Crypto adoption in Africa

Interestingly, Nigeria’s initial adoption was primarily driven by local currency devaluation after the Naira (NGN) dropped by over 70% against the U.S dollar since 2021. This has made stablecoins such as USDT and USDC a better alternative.

Last year alone, Nigeria led sub-Saharan Africa in total crypto value of over $92 billion, according to Chainalysis.

This was triple South Africa’s $30 billion – The second-most active crypto market in the region. Ethiopia ranks third, driven by massive foreign investment in Bitcoin mining, tapping into its relatively cheap electricity.

Kenya is the fourth-largest crypto market, while Ghana closes the top five list.

Since Ghana shares a border with Nigeria and is among the top countries in terms of crypto adoption, Blockchain.com’s expansion seems plausible.

Internet Computer price is gaining strong attention in the crypto market after South Korea’s largest exchange Upbit announced the listing of Internet Computer (ICP), opening trading across KRW, BTC, and USDT pairs.

Following the announcement, ICP price surged more than 8%, trading near the $2.8 zone, as traders reacted to the fresh liquidity boost coming from one of Asia’s most influential crypto exchanges. Listings on major exchanges such as Upbit often bring a wave of new market participants, particularly from the South Korean trading community, which has historically played a significant role in driving altcoin momentum.

As a result, Internet Computer quickly emerged as one of the most closely watched altcoins in the market today, with traders now monitoring whether the rally could evolve into a broader breakout.

Upbit Listing Expands Market Access for Internet Computer

Upbit’s decision to list Internet Computer significantly expands the token’s exposure to South Korea’s highly active crypto trading market. The exchange confirmed that ICP trading will open against KRW, BTC, and USDT, providing multiple liquidity channels for traders.

Exchange listings frequently act as catalysts for short-term price rallies, as increased accessibility tends to drive higher trading volumes and market visibility. $XRP currently trades within a reaccumulation pattern that has persisted since March 2020, with targets for May 2026, November 2028 and February 2031.

$XRP has been under heavy selling pressure since Q4 2025, falling 51% over that period and sitting 61.6% below its all-time high of $3.66, as it currently trades at $1.38. Despite the sharp losses, data shows a six-year reaccumulation structure that may be setting $XRP up for a major upward move.

Notably, this structure takes the form of a symmetrical triangle that began in March 2020 and ran through November 2024. The current pullback from that high appears to be a retest of the breakout zone, and the reaccumulation phase remains active at press time.

Key Points

Data identifies a multi-year symmetrical triangle pattern in $XRP’s price history, running from a floor of $0.11 in March 2020 to a breakout at $0.50 in November 2024.

The triangle featured an ABCDE wave structure, with key levels at $0.11, $1.96, $0.30, $0.74, and $0.50 representing each wave’s conclusion.

$XRP broke out of the triangle in November 2024 and rallied to an all-time high of $3.66 in July 2025, before retracing to its current price of $1.38.

The ongoing retracement is part of the reaccumulation trend that has persisted since March 2020, when the triangle first formed.

If the pattern plays out, short-term price targets stand at $5.3, $8.6, and $12.8, with long-term projections reaching $186 by February 2031.

The Multi-Year Triangle

This structure was mentioned in an analysis by market watcher Ahmed Ibrahim. Specifically, he called attention to a symmetrical triangle pattern on the 3-month chart that traces back to March 2020, when $XRP hit a floor price of $0.11.

BIS Warns About Self-Hosted Crypto Wallets Using the EU as its main case study, the paper says self-hosted wallets occupy a particularly sensitive position because they do not rely on an identifiable intermediary to perform customer due diligence, monitor transactions or file suspicious activity reports.
