The number of transactions carried out exclusively by autonomous AI agents on the $XRP Ledger (XRPL) has surpassed 2,094,121. According to data from xrpl-ai.org, an active marketplace has emerged within the $XRP-native blockchain in just one month, with AI systems directly paying one another for digital services.

However, the financial scale of this activity is unusual. The total settlement volume across all two million transactions amounted to a modest 5,112.89 $XRP and 2,281.96 $RLUSD. With $XRP trading at around $1, the combined value was approximately $7,400.

With the average transaction worth a negligible $0.0035, bots pay microscopic amounts for specific requests but do so continuously and at a high frequency.

Texas refuses to sell as its $10 million Bitcoin bet sinks to $6.6 million
Texas kept its 197,844-share position in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) unchanged during the second quarter even as the stake's market value fell to about $6.62 million.

The Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company reported the same number of IBIT shares in its June 30 Form 13F as it did in an amended March 31 filing, showing no shares were sold during a quarter in which Bitcoin continued its 2026 decline.

TTSTC is the state-created investment manager that holds the Texas Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and oversees about $165 billion across state funds, endowments and other portfolios.

Texas previously allocated $10 million to the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and used BlackRock's ETF as an interim vehicle while preparing to move toward direct Bitcoin custody.

The latest filing shows Texas maintained its ETF exposure rather than reducing it as Bitcoin prices fell.

BlackRock reported IBIT's net asset value at $33.48 per share on June 30, down from $38.62 at the end of March. That puts the 197,844 shares disclosed by TTSTC at about $6.62 million at quarter-end.

IBIT's NAV fell 13.31% during the quarter as Bitcoin declined 13.25% to $59,101.49 from $68,129.64, BlackRock said.

TTSTC's two regulatory filings, however, report both the share count and the stated value of the IBIT position as unchanged.

The amended March filing lists 197,844 shares with a value of 7,602. The June filing repeats exactly the same figures.
The $7.602 million figure closely reflected the position's value around the end of the first quarter, when IBIT traded near $38 per share. By June 30, the same number of shares was worth roughly $980,000 less based on BlackRock's reported NAV.

That leaves TTSTC's unchanged value entry at odds with the market value of the position at the second-quarter reporting date.

The token fell to about $0.98 this week before recovering toward $1, according to CryptoSlate data, extending a retreat that has erased much of its May rally. Crowd commentary around $XRP simultaneously reached its most bearish level in three months across X, Reddit, Telegram, and other crypto channels tracked by Santiment.

Beneath that price weakness, several parts of the market have strengthened. More addresses are using the $XRP Ledger (XRPL), large holders are moving less $XRP onto Binance, and traders are adding leveraged exposure.

Yet, fresh investment demand has moved in the opposite direction, while growth in parts of XRPL's user base has outpaced the capital and transaction value accompanying it.

XRPL participation broadens as capital depth lags

XRPL activity has returned to its May peak even though $XRP is trading roughly 35% below the price reached during that earlier surge.

The network logged 49,929 active addresses during a 24-hour period this week, its highest level in more than two months and about 3% above the 48,453 recorded when $XRP traded above $1.54 in May.

The backdrop is markedly different this time. Santiment linked part of the May increase to enthusiasm around $XRP's price breakout. The latest surge followed weeks of weaker price action, including a drop below $1, while social sentiment deteriorated to a three-month low.

May also showed how quickly those gains can disappear. Daily active addresses fell to 25,350 by July 10, the second-lowest reading of 2026, before recovering over the following month.

Israel crypto broker Bits of Gold probes customer data breach

Bits of Gold, Israel’s regulated crypto broker, is investigating a cyber incident that may have exposed customer identity and financial information after unauthorized access to a third-party system used for support and data analysis.

The company notified customers on Aug. 16 and said it had blocked the access, disconnected the affected system from its information sources and informed relevant authorities, Calcalist reported.

The company said its review indicates “there may have been access to certain personal information,” including names, ID numbers, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, bank account details and public crypto wallet addresses. It said digital assets, account passwords, scanned ID documents, full credit card details and CVV codes were unaffected. Bits of Gold also said “there is no indication” so far that the potentially exposed information has been used.
