Saylor wrote:

“By 2036, I expect bitcoin to be more widely held, more deeply institutionalized, more politically important, more financially integrated, and more fiercely defended.”

Wider ownership is the first part of that prediction. Saylor expects $BTC to be held not only by individuals, but also by corporations, investment funds, banks, and sovereigns. He describes the crypto asset as treasury reserve capital, placing it alongside resources held to preserve value and support long-term financial strategies.

His institutional forecast goes further than balance-sheet ownership. Saylor predicts bitcoin will become a major collateral asset for digital credit markets and will settle high-value transactions with finality. That would position $BTC as financial infrastructure supporting lending and settlement, rather than solely as an asset bought and sold for investment purposes.

Bitcoin Could Anchor Digital Credit and Money
Saylor also expects bitcoin to anchor new forms of digital money. In his outlook, the crypto asset would provide the capital foundation for financial systems that issue credit, transfer value, and develop products around $BTC.

France beat Morocco 2-0 on Thursday to become the first semifinalist, and its contracts settled near 40.1% on Kalshi and 38.6% on Polymarket after the final whistle. Spain answered on Friday, edging Belgium 2-1 through a late goal from substitute Mikel Merino and climbing to roughly 21%. The two sides meet in Dallas on Jul. 14.

Lifetime turnover on the winner contract has reached more than $5.2 billion, split between $4.1 billion on Polymarket and $1.1 billion on Kalshi as of Jul. 9. Argentina drew about $12.9 million in daily flow, the most of any nation, while England pulled in $8.8 million after gaining 4.3 points to 19.4%.

The move, disclosed in a post on X by Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, positions the policy group against the plaintiff, identified as Noah Doe, who argues that the assets qualify as ‘abandoned property’ under state law.

What the Lawsuit Alleges

The plaintiff, Noah Doe, has filed a legal action asserting ownership of Bitcoin holdings that have remained untouched for over a decade. The core argument hinges on the legal concept of abandonment—suggesting that because Satoshi Nakamoto has not moved or claimed the funds since early 2009, the assets should be considered ownerless and thus eligible for transfer to a new claimant. The exact amount of BTC in question has not been publicly confirmed, but Satoshi’s known wallets are estimated to contain roughly 1 million bitcoins, worth tens of billions of dollars at current market prices.

BPI’s Intervention and Legal Stance

The BPI, a nonprofit research and advocacy organization focused on Bitcoin policy, has asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit entirely. In its filing, the institute argues that accepting the plaintiff’s ‘abandoned property’ reasoning would set a dangerous precedent for the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem. The BPI contends that such a ruling could be used to strip self-custody users of their digital assets, effectively undermining the foundational principle of individual ownership that Bitcoin was designed to protect.
