Ethena [ENA] has been moving upward since the 8th of July. The altcoin has made a 14.11% move from the $0.072 low on that day to the current market prices of $0.082 after reclaiming the short-term resistance zone at $0.08. However, the token has been falling lower since the attempted rally beyond $0.10 in early June. Despite the recent gains, the downtrend has yet to be broken.

The Robinhood Earn feature, launched on the 1st of July, has also been a big plus for Ethena. The network observed in a post on X that Ethena represented over 70% of the asset allocation from Robinhood user deposits. Ethena seeded $50 million into a USDG vault on Morpho, chosen by Steakhouse Financial. This inflow pushed the Robinhood Chain’s TVL up by 160%.

Contrasted against this positive news for the synthetic dollar protocol was the Whale Alerts post on X that showed a 1.231 billion ENA transfer, worth $94 million, between two unknown wallets.

Using ENA price action to sort out the upcoming trends

For an altcoin that is down 94% from its all-time high, the weekly chart is expected to be bearish. The OBV has been making new lows for over two years. The ENA price fell below the $0.19-$0.20 support zone at the start of the year. This support level had been defended since September 2024.

Other momentum indicators were neutral or bearish on this timeframe, and the OBV signaled overall bearish dominance. However, a lower timeframe resistance zone has been breached.

Should ENA traders wait before selling?

The 1-day swing structure broke bearishly at the start of June (white). The ongoing price bounce from the 0.08 zone requires the OBV to continue going higher to signal steady buying pressure.

Such a bounce is technically possible, but the broader market sentiment needs to support ENA’s bullish shift, if it comes. Even then, the $0.105 round number and 50% retracement level would be a key resistance zone to overcome.

Ethereum faces retail selling despite $84.4M ETF buying – What’s next for ETH?

A growing disparity between institutional and retail investors could set the tone for Ethereum [ETH] heading into the new week. At press time, the asset climbed just 1.1% over the past day and posted impressive double-digit gains across the past thirty days.

That sentiment may be turning, though, as rising tension in the perpetual futures market hints that retail investors are shifting bearish and selling into the weekend.

Ethereum has held fairly steady around $1,800 over the past day, with institutional investor flows serving as one major contributor.

At the close of Friday’s trading session, SoSoValue reported that these investors recorded a weekly netflow of $84.4 million in net buying. That marked the first weekly net buy across the past nine weeks of trading.

During the week, only one day saw net sales, the 9th of July, when investors offloaded $52.08 million as Ethereum fell to $1,748.

Therefore, a turnaround of this kind, after such a long stretch of selling, often signals that institutional investors are recalibrating their outlook and may look to add capital to spot U.S. Ethereum ETFs. That fresh demand could help push the asset’s price higher in the near term.

Shiba Inu: Shibarium DEX Trading Volume Surges Over 1,500% as Network Activity Rebounds

Trading activity on Shibarium-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs) is showing signs of recovery after daily volume surged by more than 1,500% within 24 hours.

According to data from DeFiLlama, Shibarium’s DEX trading volume jumped 1,517%, rising from just $17 on July 9 to $275 on July 10. Notably, Shiba Inu’s native decentralized exchange, ShibaSwap, accounted for the entire $275 in trading volume.

Although the figure remains insignificant compared to rival blockchain ecosystems that process tens of millions of dollars in daily DEX volume, the increase represents a notable improvement from Shibarium’s recent performance.

Trading Volume Recovers After Weeks of Inactivity

The latest spike follows an extended period of minimal trading activity on the network.

Notably, Shibarium recorded no DEX trading volume from June 23 through the end of the month. Activity resumed at the beginning of July, but only $3 worth of trades were executed. Trading volume then climbed to $17 on July 9 before surging to $275 the following day, representing a 1,517% day-over-day increase.

While trading activity remains modest in absolute terms, the latest figures suggest that liquidity is gradually returning to the Shibarium ecosystem. 

Shibarium TVL and Transactions Soar

Meanwhile, Shibarium’s decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem has also expanded in recent weeks. At press time, the network’s total value locked (TVL) stood at $24,014, representing an 11.71% increase from its June 27 level. 

Additionally, TVL has risen by 1.50% over the past 24 hours, indicating continued growth in assets deposited across Shibarium-based protocols. Beyond decentralized exchange activity, overall network usage has also strengthened.
