Zama, Morpho and Steakhouse launch first 'confidential DeFi yield' vault on Ethereum
Zama, Morpho and Steakhouse Financial are launching the first confidential DeFi yield product on Ethereum, letting institutions earn yield on encrypted USDC balances without exposing positions onchain.

The Steakhouse Confidential USDC Prime vault opens for deposits on June 23, built on Zama’s FHE-encrypted cUSDC and Morpho’s lending infrastructure.

Zama, Morpho and Steakhouse Financial are launching the Steakhouse Confidential USDC Prime vault, the first DeFi yield product for confidential USDC stablecoins on Ethereum, The Block has exclusively learned.

The integration lets holders of Zama's encrypted cUSDC deposit directly into Morpho's existing Steakhouse USDC Prime vault and earn yield without exposing their balances, transaction amounts or strategy onchain.

"Until now, operating on a public blockchain meant exposing your entire financial playbook to your competitors," said Zama co-founder and CEO Dr. Rand Hindi. He called the launch the official start of a "confidential DeFi" category on Ethereum.

Deposits for the vault go live on June 23 via the Zama app, according to the teams.

Zama's cUSDC uses fully homomorphic encryption to shield balances and transfer amounts while preserving auditability and compliance checks, converting standard USDC directly on Ethereum without requiring a bridge to another chain.

Once shielded, the tokens can be deposited into Morpho vaults and inherit the protocol's existing security and capital efficiency.

Morpho co-founder Merlin Egalite said institutional demand for onchain confidentiality has been a consistent signal from prospective users, and that Zama's stack lets institutions allocate into Morpho vaults without compromising operational privacy.

Solana gains as investors rotate beyond BitcoinSolana (CRYPTO:SOL) continued to outperform Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), with the SOL/BTC ratio extending a recent breakout and recording its strongest weekly close since May.
The move comes as capital rotates into higher-risk crypto assets following Bitcoin's recovery above US$65,000.
Growing activity in tokenised assets and real-world asset projects is supporting Solana's network growth ahead of the third quarter.
Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) strengthened its position relative to Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) as the SOL/BTC ratio extended a recent breakout, suggesting investors are increasingly allocating capital to higher-risk crypto assets ahead of the third quarter.

The move followed Bitcoin's recovery above US$65,000 and Solana's 3.4% daily close above US$71 on June 14, while the SOL/BTC ratio recorded its strongest weekly finish since early May.Unlike previous market cycles, Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) has continued to weaken against Bitcoin, with the ETH/BTC ratio on track for a tenth consecutive weekly decline while Solana gains relative strength.

The divergence suggests Solana may be attracting a larger share of capital flowing into altcoins, although whether the trend continues will depend on broader market conditions, and following the latest session Solana was unchanged at US$0.00.

Network activity has also accelerated, with Solana's real-world asset ecosystem surpassing US$3 billion in total value and tokenised SpaceX xStock generating more than US$36.5 million in trading volume since launch.

Additional momentum came from a cooperation agreement between Kazakhstan's Alatau City and the Solana Foundation, while Backpack Securities reported that SPCX exceeded US$50 million in on-chain trading volume within
