Amid growing criticisms, especially from the Chainlink camp, David Schwartz has come up to suggest that if their argument holds up, then it could also mean that Ripple’s XRP sales to purchase its shares help XRP holders by lowering the entry price.

The flagship cryptocurrency staged a noticeable recovery over the weekend as the digital gold narrative strengthened. 

As risk sentiment returned, the total crypto market cap surged over 3.6% in the past 24 hours to reach the $2.6 trillion mark by the Asia close for the first time since early February. 

This rebound was further bolstered by significant institutional activity, including Michael Saylor’s Strategy (formerly known as Microstrategy) acquiring an additional 17,994 BTC to strengthen its corporate treasury.

The crypto fear and greed index had moved comfortably into neutral territory and was sitting at 43, after spending several weeks in "Fear" and "Extreme Fear" levels.

Moving away from the month’s low of 15, this recovery signals that the period of intense panic is subsiding as retail traders regain their footing.

Bitcoin’s recovery sparked a modest altcoin rally ahead of the US open.

Ethereum jumped nearly 10% to trade above $2,290, while a handful of top tokens like Fetch.ai (FET) and Polkadot (DOT) posted double-digit gains

Crypto majors post double-digit weekly gains as bitcoin tests $75,000 ahead of Fed decision

Bitcoin BTC$74,074.35 briefly touched $75,912 early Tuesday before pulling back to $74,372, but the intraday volatility is less interesting than the weekly picture beneath it.

CoinDesk reported earlier Tuesday that the push above $75,000 was driven by derivatives activity rather than fresh buying, specifically the closure of large $60,000 put positions that forced market makers to buy spot bitcoin as they rebalanced.

The rapid pullback below $74,400, a former support level from April 2025, confirmed that traders aren't willing to chase above that level without a fundamental catalyst.

Every major token is up at least 5% over seven days. Ether climbed 13.3% to $2,316. xrp rose 11% to $1.53, olana gained 9.7% to $93.92. Dogecoin added 9.5% to $0.10, back above a dime. BNB rose 5% to $676. This is the broadest sustained rally since before the Iran war began, and it's happening heading into the most consequential Fed meeting in months.

But the institutional flow data underneath the rally is real and getting harder to dismiss. CF Benchmarks analyst Mark Pilipczuk noted in an email that spot bitcoin ETFs drew roughly $767 million in net inflows last week, the third consecutive week of positive flows and a sharp reversal from the five-week, $3 billion-plus outflow streak earlier in the year.

The gold convergence trade is another signal worth watching. Year-to-date through mid-March, GLD returned roughly 16% while IBIT lost approximately 19%. But that gap has narrowed sharply, with bitcoin outperforming gold by 13.2% since early March. The 90-day correlation between the two shifted from -0.27 to +0.29 over six months. The "digital gold" narrative that looked dead in February is getting oxygen again.

The $94–$95 (50 EMA) zone is acting as immediate resistance, while $109–$130 remains the major upside barrier for any sustained trend reversal.

RSI is currently around 58–59, indicating bullish momentum building.

The move above the 50 level reflects strengthening buyer control, though not yet at overbought conditions — leaving room for further upside if resistance breaks.

The launch has unlocked a new category of institutional demand, with spot Ethereum ETFs attracting approximately $315 million in net inflows last week.

Technical analyst Bluntz Capital wrote on X that “It looks like $ETH is leading the majors with a strong accumulation breakout here”

Meanwhile, Ethereum exchange reserves have fallen to levels not seen in nearly nine years, reducing immediate sell-side pressure and tightening available supply at a time of rising demand. Is now the time to buy crypto? If the bottom is in, this could be an excellent entry point.

The Ethereum Foundation’s upcoming Glamsterdam hard fork, scheduled for the first half of 2026, is adding further tailwind to sentiment. The upgrade targets a 78.6% reduction in gas fees, a tenfold increase in throughput to 10,000 transactions per second.
