President Donald Trump projected four to five weeks for the conflict with Iran to come to an end. The market priced its playbook: headline shock, brief spike, diplomatic theater, then normalization.

Bitcoin held near $70,000 despite oil price briefly trading around $100 a barrel, a move that would once have pushed crypto sharply lower under the usual macro playbook.

According to CryptoSlate's data, the flagship digital asset climbed a modest 0.3% over the last 24 hours, reaching as high as $71,337 before retracing to $69,803 as of press time.

Oil prices climbed sharply, with WTI crude rising 4.79% to $92.04 and Brent crude jumping 5.24% to $97.22.

The rally followed escalating shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, which deepened concerns about a sustained supply shock. Notably, Iran had warned the world to prepare for oil prices of $200 a barrel.

Nonetheless, BTC's price performance despite these threats marks a significant divergence from previous weeks, when surging oil prices pushed the crypto market lower amid inflation fears.

While those fears persist in the market, Bitcoin has shown greater resilience, holding within an established range rather than breaking lower.

The daily chart tells the scale of both the damage and the recovery. $TRUMP bottomed near $2.68 at the lower Bollinger Band earlier this week after months of grinding lower inside a descending channel defined by a falling resistance trendline from the October 2025 highs. Yesterday’s spike broke price above the BB midline at $3.94, the 20-day EMA at $3.35, the 50-day at $3.71, and the 100-day at $4.45 in a single session.

At press time, the upper Bollinger Band at $3.94 has flipped from resistance to support. Above that sits the 100-day EMA and the 200-day EMA at $5.94, which has capped every recovery attempt since 2025. A close above it would be the first genuine structural break in months.

Dogecoin short sellers may have reported $0 in short positions because they were pressured to close their positions manually. That is, before it could hit liquidation levels, these traders closed, leading to losses in market fees, buys and slippage.

Dogecoin’s price performance in the last seven days provides insight into the zero-dollar liquidation. The king of meme coins had been on an upward climb, rising over 4.35% within the period. This positive sentiment may have led to fewer short bets.

However, following the market-wide pullback, $DOGE has slipped more than the broader crypto market. As of this writing, Dogecoin changed hands at $0.09429, which represents a 4.61% decline in the last 24 hours.

The price decline was triggered by rejection at $DOGE’s resistance level and amplified by Bitcoin’s slip. Despite this, volume remains up by 27.84% at $1.81 billion.

In support of the claims, Armstrong reacted to Druckenmiller’s prediction with a confirmation post, publicly admitting that the billionaire is right about his stablecoin forecast.

Reports on the interview revealed that the billionaire further asserted that blockchain-based assets could solve long-standing issues in payments by making transactions faster, cheaper and more productive.
