#Jump Crypto’s ‘Firedancer’ is taking a slow and steady approach to its long-awaited Solana infrastructure rollou
Jump Crypto’s long-awaited Firedancer validator client is now quietly producing blocks on Solana mainnet, marking a turning point in the project’s years-long push to overhaul the blockchain’s performance infrastructure.
“Firedancer is live and running in production,” Firedancer founding engineer Ritchie Patel told CoinDesk in an interview. “We have packed tens of millions of transactions over the last few months.”
The rollout, however, is intentionally restrained. Patel said the team preferred to roll out progressively across the network rather than through a broad public launch, as the team remains cautious about rapidly increasing adoption.
“We don’t want everybody to run it yet,” Patel said. “If half the network upgrades before we’ve done full security auditions,that would be a bit reckless.”
Firedancer, developed by Jump Crypto, is a validator client for Solana, or another version of the software that runs the blockchain. The effort emerged partly in response to concerns around Solana’s earlier outages and its reliance on a single dominant client maintained by Solana infrastructure firm Anza.

The crypto market is bracing for what could be its biggest structural shift to date as the CLARITY Act nears a high-stakes markup by the Senate committee.

Industry leaders and researchers are describing the legislation as the definitive catalyst that could transform cryptocurrency from a speculative experiment into a core pillar of U.S. financial infrastructure.

Formally known as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, the bill seeks to resolve years of regulatory wars by establishing a clear jurisdictional boundary between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Under the proposed framework, digital assets would be classified as “digital commodities” under the CFTC’s oversight if they meet specific decentralization thresholds, while those dependent on central teams would remain under the SEC’s purview as securities.

Alex Thorn, Head of Firmwide Research at Galaxy Digital, has likened the bill to the Securities Act of 1933, suggesting it provides the legal bedrock necessary for digital assets to integrate directly into capital markets. However, Thorn warns that the window for action is rapidly closing, noting that its chances in 2026 are low if the bill does not clear the committee by early May.

The executive cited a crowded Senate schedule and the approaching 2026 election cycle. While he assigns a 50% probability to its passage, he remains wary of the bill’s potential for expanding financial surveillance, which he suggests could be the most significant since the USA PATRIOT Act.

The momentum behind the bill was further supported by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, who recently described the latest draft as “stronger than ever.”

Experienced Analyst Claims the Bitcoin Bear Market Is Over: Predicts What Will Happen Next

Cryptocurrency analyst Michaël van de Poppe, in his assessment of the Bitcoin market, stated that the current outlook is strong and he believes the bear market is over.

According to the analyst, a historical examination of the Bitcoin chart shows that markets only bottomed out below the 200-week moving average during the FTX and Luna crises of 2022. In other cycles, after the end of the bear market, the price rose to the 50-week moving average and entered a consolidation phase there.

Van de Poppe argues that, according to his thesis, the bear market ended with the lows formed in February, but he believes the current rally is still ongoing. The analyst stated that there is still room for further gains up to approximately $93,000, where the 50-week moving average is located. However, he was not certain whether this move would happen immediately, suggesting that the rally could slow down until June or later, adding that his assessments are based entirely on technical chart patterns.

Adding that he does not expect new lows in Bitcoin, the analyst said that the “bear flag” pattern, or continuation of the downtrend, which is becoming widespread in the market, has become overcrowded and there are no strong fundamental reasons to support new lows.

Van de Poppe, also commenting on the altcoin market, stated that the sector is still in its early stages. According to the analyst, new narratives and trends need to emerge during this process. Therefore, he noted that certain altcoins may show strong performance periodically, but these projects could lose momentum quickly.

Bitcoin price has fallen below $78,000 as macro pressure returned to global markets, erasing the short-lived rally that followed progress on the U.S. CLARITY Act earlier in the week.

At press time, the $BTC price was trading near $77,984, down about 3.59% over the past 24 hours. The decline came after Bitcoin briefly moved above $82,000 when the U.S. Senate Banking Committee advanced the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in a 15-9 bipartisan vote.

That regulatory boost faded as investors reacted to rising U.S. bond yields and fresh concerns that the Federal Reserve may keep policy tighter for longer. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield climbed to about 4.58%, making fixed-income assets more attractive compared with risk assets such as crypto.
