The pullback has raised a question for traders. Does this rally confirm a new bull market, or is Bitcoin simply testing resistance in an ongoing bear market?Signs of Fading MomentumSoloway pointed to a few technical warning signs building on the chart:
Growing upper wicks on recent candles, a pattern he said signals increasing selling pressure as price pushes higher

A trend line, previously support, that is now acting as resistance after being broken and retested

A cluster of resistance levels stacking up in the $80,000 to $83,000 region
The One Question That MattersAccording to Soloway, confirming a genuine trend reversal comes down to a single technical test. Has Bitcoin made a higher high compared to its prior swing high?The relevant prior high sits at $82,830As of this analysis, Bitcoin has not yet closed above that level

A confirmed break above $82,830 would mark the first higher high in the current pattern, an early signal of a potential shift from a downtrend to an uptrend

Soloway was clear that even a break above this level would only be the “beginning stages” of confirming a new bull market, not definitive proof on its own.

Why is AI Payment Concentrating on USDC?

When AI agents and automated programs process payments, they typically prioritize three factors: settlement speed, currency stability, and minimizing reliance on traditional banking channels. The report cites Allaire as saying that USDC currently holds a dominant position in these scenarios.

USDC is issued by Circle and is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. The article states that its reserve backing and compliance attributes make it more suitable for handling high-frequency, small-amount, and automated payment needs. This is the main reason why AI payment scenarios prioritize the use of USDC.

Market Cap Lower Than USDT, Yet Trading Share Rises

By market capitalization, USDC still lags behind Tether-issued USDT, making it the second-largest USD stablecoin.  However, the report, citing Bernstein research cited by Cointelegraph, states that USDC's share of adjusted stablecoin transaction volume has risen from approximately 40% in 2025 to over 60% so far in 2026.

This means that although USDC's circulating supply is still smaller than USDT's, its actual usage intensity for payments and transfers is increasing. For the market, this change reflects the true usage of stablecoins better than simply comparing market capitalization.
