Term Labs Hacker Moves 300 ETH to Tornado Cash Following $8.5M Governance ExploitA hacker who exploited a governance vulnerability in the DeFi protocol Term Labs over the weekend has begun moving stolen funds through crypto mixing service Tornado Cash, according to blockchain security firm PeckShield. The attacker deposited 300 $ETH, worth approximately $741,000, into the privacy protocol in three separate 100 $ETH transactions, a move that likely aims to obscure the trail of the stolen assets.

Details of the Exploit and Fund Movements

The initial breach occurred on July 13, 2025, when the attacker manipulated Term Labs’ governance mechanism to drain roughly $8.5 million in cryptocurrency from the protocol. PeckShield identified the Tornado Cash deposits on July 14, noting that the transactions were split to avoid detection and to complicate tracking efforts. Tornado Cash is a popular mixing service that breaks the on-chain link between source and destination addresses, making it difficult for investigators to follow the money.

This is not the first time Tornado Cash has been used in high-profile crypto heists. The service has been a go-to tool for hackers and money launderers since 2019, despite sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department in August 2022. The sanctions targeted the protocol for its role in laundering over $7 billion in virtual currency, including funds from North Korean hacking groups.

Обновление объединяет три предложения по развитию $BNB. Fast listing, a wide range of trading pairs, and advanced trading tools for small market cap tokens are among the advantages that ETF and DAT structures cannot easily offer.

Treasury’s bond buyback plan fights the market and heightens the danger, billionaire Druckenmiller says

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller, a former mentor to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, has a lesson for his onetime protege: governments cannot indefinitely fight market fundamentals.

That lesson comes in response to the Treasury’s recent decision, under Bessent’s leadership, to increase bond buybacks to $4 billion in an effort to tame longer duration yields or borrowing costs, which recently hit the highest since 2007.

Druckenmiller’s point is that such interventions may offer temporary relief but cannot overcome the underlying forces pushing yields higher, namely nominal growth rate, large fiscal deficits and a growing government debt burden. The federal debt recently hit the $40 trillion mark for the first time ever.

“Governments defending prices against fundamentals always lose," Druckenmiller wrote in an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal, adding that, “rising interest rates are a signal of trouble ahead [and] artificially suppressing it heightens the danger.”

He argued that markets gather and process information far better than any committee of people ever could. The long-term Treasury yield acts as a natural check on how much the government can borrow. Take that check away, he said, and you also take away the pressure on politicians to stay fiscally responsible.

Bitcoin roars back above $80K as ETF demand, Treasury buybacks fuel rallyBitcoin rose above $80,000 on Tuesday for the first time since mid-May, extending its strongest weekly rally in more than two years.

Bitcoin (BTC) traded as high as $81,160.06, bringing its seven-day gain to about 25.8%, CoinGecko data shows.

Bernstein analysts led by Gautam Chhugani described the Treasury decision as the “strong trigger” for Bitcoin’s rise, noting that the cryptocurrency has historically responded positively to liquidity expansion.
