Ledger taps ex-Circle exec to lead finance ahead of potential US IPO
Ledger, the Paris-based crypto security firm known for its hardware wallets, has named John Andrews as its new Chief Financial Officer and launched a New York office in major steps to accelerate its US growth.

A seasoned finance executive with roots in Wall Street, Andrews previously led investor relations and capital markets at Circle, where he was instrumental in advancing the company’s public listing ambitions.

In his new role, he will support Ledger’s expansion amid growing demand from banks and asset managers.

“His deep experience at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets is exactly what is required as we deepen our footprint in the United States,” Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier stated.

Andrews said Ledger’s strong reputation for digital asset security places it in a unique position to meet increasing institutional demand.

On his appointment, the finance leader said he looks forward to contributing to its continued expansion alongside a highly regarded team.

New York expansion builds on earlier presence

The expansion builds on its earlier footprint in New York, where it opened an office in 2018 focused on its Ledger Vault institutional custody product.

Ledger’s new office will serve as a strategic hub to support institutional clients seeking secure, high-assurance tools for managing digital assets, according to Gauthier.

“We are placing Ledger Enterprise at the epicenter of the financial world to meet the growing demand for secure infrastructure,” he noted.
The company recently signed a multi-year global partnership with the San Antonio Spurs, an NBA franchise, as part of its ongoing effort to build consumer brand recognition in the US market.

Bitcoin Analysis for Mar 20: Price Outlook Hinges on Break Above $71,000 Resistance


Bitcoin trades within a tight range as buyers defend support, while resistance above keeps the market cautious and awaiting a clear breakout direction.

Bitcoin ($BTC) is trading near $70,606 at press time, down 0.1% over 24 hours, after a volatile intraday session between $68,933 and $70,931. The chart shows an early drop below $68,900, followed by a steady recovery as buyers stepped in and pushed $BTC back above the $70,900 zone.

This rebound suggests demand remains active on dips, while the move toward the upper end of the daily range shows bulls still defend short-term momentum. However, Bitcoin has not yet broken through the $71,000 resistance level. This zone keeps the market within a cautious range as traders monitor the next directional move.

With the Bitcoin price holding above key intraday support and pressing higher again, another breakout attempt could quickly shift market sentiment.

Bitcoin’s daily chart shows the latest candle holding above the middle of a descending pitchfork. That placement suggests that Bitcoin continues to trade within a broader downward-sloping structure, but the price remains firm near the upper half of the rang

The recent rebound from the lower channel support also indicates that buyers have remained active on dips, which has helped $BTC recover from the late-February weakness.

The main technical level now sits near the upper pitchfork resistance, around the $71,000 to $72,000 zone. A clear move above that area would strengthen the bullish case and could open the way toward the recent swing high near $75,000.

On the downside, the mid-channel area near $66,000 to $67,000 acts as first support, while a deeper pullback could expose the lower boundary near $57,500 to $60,000.

Notable technical similarities in the cryptocurrency markets are raising concerns about Bitcoin’s (BTC) current price movement. According to analyst Omkar Godbole, Bitcoin’s trajectory in recent weeks bears a “dangerous” resemblance to a pattern that previously led to sharp price drops.

Bitcoin is currently trading around $70,994, and the price movements, especially since the beginning of February, are noteworthy. According to the analyst, the pattern that has emerged during this period largely coincides with the formation seen in November-January, which eventually led to the price falling to the $60,000 level.

This pattern is referred to as a “counter-trend recovery” in technical analysis. Such movements are generally considered limited and temporary upward movements seen within a downtrend. Between November and January, Bitcoin followed a narrow, slightly upward-sloping trajectory after falling from the $100,000 level. While this movement initially signaled a recovery, it later became clear that it was actually a short-term pause within the main downtrend.

Indeed, during this process, the support level was broken, and the Bitcoin price experienced a rapid drop from approximately $90,000 to $60,000.

A similar pattern is being observed today. After the lows at the beginning of February, Bitcoin is once again moving within a narrow channel, slightly sloping upwards but with weak momentum. According to the analyst, this rise may be a sign of “fatigue” rather than the start of a strong trend. Slow and volatile rises generally indicate that buyers are losing strength and sellers may regain control.

The tokens are backed by real bank deposits. With this, the system stays stable and trusted. It also connects traditional banking with new blockchain tools.

The process itself will not change much. Companies will still apply through the usual government system. But the way money moves will be different. Instead of regular transfers, payments will use token-based systems.

South Korea's main opposition party introduced a bill Thursday to permanently eliminate a planned tax on cryptocurrency gains scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2027. The People Power Party, known as the PPP, filed the legislation to amend the country's Income Tax Act and remove all provisions related to digital asset income.
