Investments continue to pour into crypto exchange-traded products amid the war in the Middle East, according to the digital asset manager Coinshares.Inflows of digital asset investment products hit $1.06 billion last week, marking the third consecutive week of inflows. Coinshares says the amount of funds that go to crypto products during a disruptive geopolitical event reinforces digital assets, particularly Bitcoin (BTC), as a relative safe haven compared with other asset classes. Since the crisis in Iran started, the total assets under management (AUM) in digital asset exchange-traded products grew by $140 billion, representing an increase of 9.4%.Investors allocated $793 million for Bitcoin, which accounts for 75% of the inflows. They also funneled $315 million to Ethereum (ETH). XRP saw outflows for the second week in a row, totalling $76 million.The US is behind $1.02 billion, or 96%, of the inflows, followed by Canada and Switzerland, which saw inflows of $19.4 million and $10.4 million, respectively. Hong Kong recorded inflows of $23.1 million, the 

largest since August 2025, while Germany witnessed outflows of $17.1 million, its first weekly outflow in 2026.The sustained inflows in crypto investment products come as Bitcoin and Ethereum rally. From trading below $66,000 on March 9th, Bitcoin soared to over $76,000. At least four Block employees have rejoined the company after being cut during the firm’s sweeping workforce reduction in February.

Chane Rennie, who leads creative strategy at Block, is among them. He has returned to the role just a week after announcing he had been laid off, according to a LinkedIn post.

Another case is Andrew Harvard, a design engineer, who was quickly invited back after being temporarily dropped from the company by accident. He confirmed the return in a statementSome team members were rehired after their manager and colleague strongly pushed leadership to bring them back.

Richard Hesse, technical lead for Square Online and Site Operations at Block, said he was the only team member left after the company’s 40% layoff. Hesse worked tirelessly to convince leadership that his coworkers were essential and that he couldn’t manage alone.

His efforts paid off, and Block rehired some of those who had been let go.
These rehires do little to offset the fact that Block reduced its workforce by nearly half, from over 10,000 to just under 6,000.

Jack Dorsey, the company’s co-founder, said the decision was driven by structural and strategic changes to how the company works.

Coinbase’s former chief technology officer, Balaji Srinivasan, called this the first “AI cut” and predicted it would send shockwaves through the tech industry.

“Learn the AI tools and raise your game. Or you might not make the cut, as an employee or as a company,” Srinivasan warned.

Automation and AI are changing workflows. Smaller teams are expected to accomplish more, and that has sparked concerns about the AI productivity paradox.

Not just big firms like Amazon and Block are affected. Disruptions in the labor market are also affecting the crypto industry, which has been gaining mainstream adoption.

XRP Holders Said To Be More Educated Than Bitcoiners
In an X post, Cool Breeze highlighted the BIS report, which claimed that XRP holders were more educated than Bitcoiners. Specifically, the report ranked XRP and Ethereum as the most educated among crypto holders. In contrast, LTC holders were said to be the least educated, with Bitcoin owners ranking in the middle.

Furthermore, the report noted that crypto holders have higher-than-average household incomes, with Ethereum, Stellar, and XRP holders said to be the wealthiest. It is worth noting that this report was released in 2021, and so, the research findings may be different this time around. The report suggested that long-term crypto ownership played a key role in reaching some of these findings.

The BIS report estimated that owning a crypto in one year increases the probability, on average, of owning a crypto in the following year by 50%. Notably, XRP holders, famously known as the ‘XRP Army,’ have gained a reputation for their long-term belief in the altcoin. These crypto holders held their tokens even during the SEC’s multi-year lawsuit against Ripple, which negatively impacted the XRP price.

Pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton had notably praised these XRP holders for playing a key role in Ripple’s case against the SEC. These holders, alongside Deaton, had filed an amicus brief in which they provided the court with information in favour of Ripple explaining why XRP wasn’t a security, as the SEC alleged. The court eventually ruled that XRP wasn’t a security.
