Dogecoin has 'crazy things on the horizon' as ecosystem grows beyond Elon Musk, says DogeOS founder
DogeOS founder and CEO says Dogecoin is outgrowing its dependence on Elon Musk mentioning the popular memecoin.

The executive also teased “crazy things on the horizon” for the ecosystem, while arguing Dogecoin better reflects Bitcoin’s original peer-to-peer cash vision.

DogeOS founder and CEO Jordan Jefferson believes Dogecoin's dependence on Elon Musk for attention and momentum is fading as the memecoin's ecosystem matures.

"There is absolutely no question that Dogecoin would not be as big as it is without Elon kind of going in and supporting it," Jefferson said during an interview with The Block's Gareth Jenkinson at the Consensus Miami conference.
DogeOS is a major advocate for the Dogecoin (DOGE) ecosystem and the developer of an application layer built using the memecoin's network. In May 2025, DogeOS said it raised $6.9 million in a round led by Polychain Capital.

Jefferson recalled how Dogecoin hit an all-time high after the billionaire mentioned Dogecoin on Saturday Night Live in 2021. But now he looks at recent developments and the memecoin's growth and is encouraged about its future with or without Musk's support.

"It's interesting and very good for Dogecoin that it's like sort of started to transcend that," he said. "Elon stopped being about Dogecoin for a while like for whatever reason. He stopped doing like these stunts like changing the Twitter logo to a Doge, all this kind of stuff, but Dogecoin didn't fade into obscurity."

With a market capitalization of around $17.6 billion, Dogecoin is among the world's top 10 cryptocurrencies. DOGE is currently changing hands at around $0.11, according to The Block's DOGE price page. The memecoin is more or less flat year-to-date and down about 50% over the past year.

The vote came after lawmakers reviewed competing proposals from four separate sources: the government, the president, the Confederation party, and a parliamentary group. A committee merged the texts before the final vote, and the government version ultimately prevailed.

Siren ($SIREN), the AI memecoin, caught the attention of crypto enthusiasts following its recent price performance. On 14 May, while the broader crypto market was surging across the board, $SIREN’s value plunged significantly, forming a massive 56% red candle.

At the time of writing, it was still well on its downtrend on the charts, with the memecoin valued at $0.53.

That’s not all though as a massive decline in market participation was also recorded during the same period. Its trading volume, for instance, fell by over 51.43% to $56.67 million.

Thanks to this massive fall, $SIREN has erased all the gains it recorded over the last 40 days. Hence, the question – Where does $SIREN go from here?

According to the memecoin’s daily chart, its latest price dip pushed $SIREN to a key support level of $0.499. It has been holding this level since the beginning of April 2026.If the memecoin fails to withstand the downward pressure and closes a daily candle below the $0.499-level, there is a strong possibility that $SIREN could witness another massive decline and potentially fall by 60% to the $0.173-level. Especially since there is no major support between $0.499 and $0.173.

However, if $SIREN manages to hold above the $0.499-level and control its bearish momentum, a potential price reversal could also occur.

At press time, the technical indicator Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) had dropped to -0.42, indicating strong selling pressure and a significant outflow of capital from the asset.

On the other hand, the Average Directional Index (ADX) had climbed to 37.80. This indicated that $SIREN flashed signs of strong directional strength as the indicator moved above the key threshold level of 25.

Strategy agreed on May 15 to repurchase roughly $1.5 billion principal of its 2029 convertible notes for an estimated $1.38 billion in cash.

The firm told investors in its Form 8-K that it may fund the repurchase with available cash reserves, ATM sale proceeds, and/or Bitcoin sale proceeds. Strategy expects to cancel the repurchased notes, leaving about $1.5 billion of 2029 notes outstanding.

The filing adds a new role to Bitcoin on Strategy's balance sheet as a named funding option for near-term debt obligations.

Bitcoin, the largest digital token, fell as much as 3.4% on Friday to around $78,600, its lowest in two weeks. It’s on pace for its first down week since the end of March. Other coins were also hit, with Ether losing nearly 4% at one point to drop to $2,200. The crypto declines came in tandem with drops in stock and bond markets.

A popular crypto analyst recently revealed how a $100,000 investment in Shiba Inu has performed over the past 12 months.

Ash Crypto shared the analysis while comparing the one-year performance of major traditional assets and cryptocurrencies. The comparison showed that traditional markets, including NVIDIA, the S&P 500, and the NASDAQ, generated strong positive returns during the period.

In contrast, many cryptocurrencies recorded steep losses. Among the worst-performing assets listed was Shiba Inu, which reportedly declined by 64%.

Crypto analyst Ash Crypto revealed that a hypothetical $100,000 investment in Shiba Inu made one year ago would now be worth approximately $36,000.

The analysis further showed that traditional financial markets significantly outperformed most cryptocurrencies during the same period.

While NVIDIA reportedly delivered a 74% yearly gain, Bitcoin and Ethereum declined by 28% and 17%, respectively.

Shiba Inu, which trades near $0.0000060, has fallen almost 40% from its 2026 peak.

According to Ash, a hypothetical $100,000 investment in $SHIB one year ago would now be worth roughly $36,000, reflecting the reported 64% drop.

Furthermore, the comparison exposed widespread weakness across the crypto market, as meme coins and altcoins such as Pepe, Dogecoin, Ondo, Uniswap, and Official Trump recorded double-digit losses.

Even Bitcoin and Ethereum finished the period in negative territory, with a hypothetical $100,000 investment in the two assets now worth approximately $72,000 and $83,000, respectively, according to Ash Crypto.
