Crypto market’s bull run isn’t here yet, but here’s what must chang

The crypto market hasn’t recovered since the bear market began right after the largest liquidation event in its history on 10th October 2025. On that day, over $19 billion were simply wiped out.

Since then, the market has swung through highs and lows, sparking concern over whether the bulls or the bears have the upper hand.

The market now sits at another of those turning points, just after Bitcoin [BTC] cleared the $65,000-resistance and several altcoins printed local highs.

Investors pull back $85 billion

Whether the market records deeper losses is tied directly to its total capitalization, which has shed roughly $85 billion since 21st July.

This decline may be evidence of bearish positioning, profit-taking, or a mix of both. In fact, the drop landed right after the market set a fresh high, hinting towards investors probably locking in their money.

At the time of writing, the Fear and Greed Index seemed to capture this shift. It showed that investors are simply fearful—likely spooked by the prospect of another liquidation.

It had a reading of 35. It alluded to capital sitting largely on the sidelines, despite some quiet accumulation.

Investors are waiting, not exiting

There is an interesting dynamic that might suggest that investors are simply waiting on the sidelines for calm to settle in. For example, the Altcoin Season Index, which tracks whether altcoins are leaning toward a bull run or bear dominance.

At press time, the index was trending upwards, even as the altcoin’s market capitalization slid over the same stretch.

Shiba Inu burn rate jumped nearly 92% over the past 24 hours, with more than 5.3 million SHIB removed from circulation.

Shiba Inu price is approaching another make-or-break moment as improving on-chain activity begins to challenge months of persistent bearish sentiment. While fresh data points to growing community participation behind the scenes, the meme coin continues to trade beneath a critical technical barrier that has repeatedly capped every recovery attempt this year. The coming sessions could determine whether SHIB is finally ready to shift momentum or remain locked in its broader downtrend.

According to Shibburn, over 5.3 million SHIB tokens were permanently burned during the past 24 hours, pushing the daily burn rate nearly 92% higher. Token burns remain one of the defining features of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, gradually removing coins from circulation through community-driven initiatives. While the latest burn represents only a small fraction of SHIB's overall supply, the consistent reduction reinforces the project's long-term objective of creating a more deflationary token economy.

Singapore-based Bitcoin mining company Poolin on July 22 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New Jersey, alongside its US affiliates Lonestar Dream Inc. and Lonestar Taproot LLC. The firm is also looking for court approval for a $52 million sale of its Texas mining properties.

The bankruptcy filing comes nearly four years after Poolin froze customer withdrawals, leaving thousands of wallet users with IOU tokens and turning a mining business failure into a long-running creditor dispute.

Court records filed in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey show Poolin listed between 10,001 and 25,000 creditors, with petition assets estimated between $1 million and $10 million.

Chief Restructuring Officer Michael DuFrayne’s declaration placed prepetition obligations at about $173.1 million, with roughly $163.7 million tied to unsecured IOUs issued to Poolin Wallet customers.

The company’s current bankruptcy case is focused on selling its Texas assets rather than rebuilding its mining operations. Lonestar Dream stopped mining and hosting activities at its Pyote and Tarbush sites on July 10, according to the filing documents.

Poolin has entered asset purchase agreements with Thor CALAP LLC for a combined $52 million stalking-horse bid. The offer includes $15 million for the Pyote property and associated power rights and equipment, plus $37 million for Tarbush power rights and equipment. The deal remains subject to competing bids and court approvals.

The company spent more than three months marketing the asset, contacting over 335 potential buyers, including cryptocurrency miners and artificial intelligence and high-performance computing operators. The process resulted in 28 confidentiality agreements, seven letters of intent and three additional expressions of interest.

Additionally, these events witnessed 1.1K contributors, expressing a 13.23% drop. In addition to this, $BNB Chain has become the 2nd top player, witnessing 121.8K developer activity events with a 40.72% decrease. At the same time, the respective events had 603 contributors, highlighting a 17.62% dip.

Following that, Polygon has become the 3rd top blockchain ecosystem when it comes to developer activity over the past 30 days. In this respect, it saw 100.4K developer activity events, displaying a 40.85% plunge. Additionally, the 452 contributors of these events show a 16.14% decrease. Additionally, as the 4th top name on the list, Arbitrum accounted for 79K events with a 45.22% decline, while its 373 contributors expressed an 18.02% dip.

As per sanbase data, Optimism’s 78.4K monthly developer activity events indicated a 45.3% dip. Simultaneously, its 355 contributors signified an 18.01% drop.
