Foundry USA, a subsidiary of Foundry, is currently the world's largest Bitcoin mining pool by total hashrate. A mining pool refers to miners in a decentralized network collaborating by combining their hashrate to better compete with the network as a whole and increase their chances of obtaining block rewards.

With this latest move, Foundry will introduce institutional-grade mining pool services for ZEC. "Zcash has evolved into an institutional-grade asset, but its supporting mining infrastructure has not kept pace," said Foundry CEO Mike Coyler.

Zcash is a privacy-oriented token launched in 2016. While cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are "anonymous" due to their lack of authentication, their addresses and transactions are still stored on a public ledger and are visible to anyone.
