Trump-linked World Liberty Financial has made significant progress over the last few months since its launch. In fact, despite WLFI's price action being on the lower side lately, its activity has been growing.

It's in the news today after one of the co-founders, Zak Folkman, revealed an upcoming development for WLFI. During Consensus Hong Kong, Folkman said they will be launching a foreign exchange (FOREX) platform named World Swap.

This exchange will operate within WLFI's stablecoin project, USDI. While more announcements are anticipated at a Mar-a-Lago event this month, it is clear that liquidity will be introduced on World Liberty Finance.

More activity for USD1 stablecoin

This development bolsters the growth that USD1 has seen since its launch. In only 10 months, USD1 has climbed to be the fifth-largest stablecoin by market cap, according to CoinMarketCap.

WLFI may be on track to challenge established issuers. At the time of writing, Tether's USDT was still the most capped, with $184.6 billion, while Circle's USDC followed with $73 billion. Sky Protocol's (SKY) USDS and Ethena's USDe followed, respectively.

Scroll co-founder warns against L2 tariffing, calls it ‘toxic’ for Ethereum



Scroll co-founder Ye Zhang criticized proposals to impose fees on Ethereum rollups, arguing they would harm long-term growth for short-term revenue.


Ye Zhang, co-founder of the layer-2 smart contract platform Scroll, slammed the idea of charging fees on Ethereum rollups, calling it “one of the most toxic ideas for Ethereum’s future.”

In a series of posts on X, Zhang argued that this approach would sacrifice “long-term scalability and ecosystem growth for short-term revenue,” adding that measuring ETH’s Ethereum
eth-1.86% .Ethereum value by Ethereum’s revenue “misses the point.”

According to Zhang, Ethereum’s strength is in being “the hub asset across thousands of rollup ecosystems,” not in collecting fees from them. Data from DefiLlama shows that after the EIP-4488 upgrade, which boosted layer-2 scalability, Ethereum’s fees dropped from tens of millions per day to around $570,000 by late March.

That, in turn, could weaken Ethereum’s position in the ecosystem. Zhang added that if Ethereum gets “greedy” and starts taxing layer-2s, the network would lose “relevance while still failing to scale."
