Crypto.com is donating $1 million to After-School All-Stars to expand educational and summer programming for youth across the United States.

On March 2, 2026, Crypto.com announced a $1 million donation to After-School All-Stars during an on-ice ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The event took place during a game between the LA Kings and the Colorado Avalanche and featured After-School All-Stars founder Arnold Schwarzenegger and LA Kings President Luc Robitaille.

The funding supports a national network that reaches nearly 150,000 students annually across 18 chapters and 80 cities. These resources provide free comprehensive after-school services and summer camps to strengthen academic achievement and leadership development in local communities.

“I founded After-School All-Stars because every kid deserves a real chance to succeed, no excuses,” said Arnold Schwarzenegger. “When you give students mentorship, and opportunity, they rise to the challenge. Institutional demand for high-yield Bitcoin funds is growing following the successful launch of BTC ETFs.





Blockchain development firm Blockstream has launched two institutional investment funds that provide direct exposure to the company’s Bitcoin ecosystem, giving investors the ability to earn yields on Bitcoin-backed loans and other revenue streams.

In a Jan. 23 announcement, Blockstream debuted its new asset management business, unveiling the Blockstream Income Fund and the Blockstream Alpha Fund, which are set to launch in the first quarter of this year. 

The Blockchain Income Fund is designed to pay US dollar-denominated yield by lending against Bitcoin 

BTC

$103,897

 collateral from across Blockstream’s network of Bitcoin-native startups and businesses with digital asset treasuries. The fund is focused on loans between $100,000 and $5 million. 

The Alpha Fund focuses on portfolio growth, providing investors with exposure to “infrastructure-based revenue streams like Lightning Network node operations.” It’s considered an actively managed fund, which typically carries higher fees. 

Blockstream joins companies like Grayscale, Pantera and Galaxy Digital in offering crypto-focused investment funds with various levels of exposure to the industry. As Cointelegraph recently reported, digital asset exchange Crypto.com has also launched an institutional investment platform.

Is tokenization, wrapping a real-world asset (RWA) and offering it via crypto rail, really worth it?

There’s been sharp debate over the efficacy of the overall RWA trend after analyst Anndy Lian poked holes into the sector’s value proposition.

For Lian, the sector lacks key crypto ethos (trust minimization, permissionless, and decentralization).

In contrast, it just adds a new layer of middleman and more overhead costs to run 24/7.

For him, the only segment that makes sense is tokenized stock, which is a better offering than crypto perps (perpetual contracts with no expiry dates).

However, in general, the additional layer with similar traditional disclosure requirements just adds to operational cost, warned Lian.

“Reality: tokenizing RWAs adds intermediaries: Legal wrapper entities, custody providers, compliance oracles, insurance layers, off-chain dispute resolution. More parties, more friction, more cost.”

Do benefits outweigh costs?

While Lian’s argument is plausible, the fact that major players like BlackRock are still betting on it means that the benefits could outweigh the mentioned costs.

In fact, the main argument by supporters is that tokenization democratizes access to financial markets.

And Robinhood is already giving European citizens access to U.S. stock markets via crypto rails. Securitize, Ondo Finance, and other issuers have also ramped up scaling.

As of writing, the global RWA market has hit $26 billion, up 8% in the past 30 days of trading. Over the same period, the total asset holders have crossed half a million to 657K users.

And the growth has been tremendous even as the broader crypto rout deepened, underscoring the demand for these RWA products.

Interestingly, the Iran escalations over the weekend reinforced the need for 24/7 markets, especially for hedging purposes.
