China has cemented its leadership in the quantum computing world with Jiuzhang 4.0, the latest iteration of the nation’s take on quantum computing that leverages photons to make advanced calculations.

According to Nature, Jiuzhang 4.0 achieved a breakthrough in the sector, increasing the number of photons manipulated to 3,050, up from the 255 mark achieved with Jiuzhang 3.0 in 2023.

While the development of photonic quantum computers has been hampered by photon loss, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) developed a special optical light source and an interferometer that allowed the system to increase its source efficiency to 92% and its overall efficiency to 51%.

Lu Chaoyang, a professor at the USTC, stated that “the most complex data sample generated by ‘Jiuzhang 4.0’ takes only 25 microseconds to produce – shorter than the blink of an eye.” This shows a remarkable improvement compared to the most powerful computer in the world, which would take “more than 10 to the 42nd years to calculate the same result,” said Lu.

While Bitcoin has pulled a strong price move following its latest rally, it appears that whales are repositioning their funds ahead of what may be coming.

Despite the bullish momentum seen across the crypto ecosystem, recent data showcased by on-chain tracking platforms shows that large holders are increasingly moving the asset in large quantities.

The data shows that whales have transferred over 10,450 $BTC through multiple series of large-scale transactions to major exchanges including Coinbase Institutional and FalconX.

Out of this, a total of over $700 million worth of $BTC flowed into the U.S. leading cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase, within a day.

Some of the transactions carried Bitcoin deposits ranging between $123 million and $174.6 million, suggesting increased profit-taking activity among large Bitcoin holders.

The surge in whale activity has sparked speculation that institutional holders or high-net-worth investors may be preparing to provide liquidity, or the moves may be mere strategic rebalancing of portfolios as Bitcoin continues to trade near key price levels.

In addition to the large $BTC inflows into major crypto exchanges, the source also identified about $103 million worth of $BTC being withdrawn to unidentified wallets during the same period.

Although this signals large-scale buying from whales, the broader trend signaled increased selling activities, suggesting that whales are possibly taking profits rather than holding for a longer term.

Following this surge in whale activities, Bitcoin has been showing mixed price actions around the $80,000 level, flashing signs of a bigger price move soon.

The platform offers an alternative to AI aggregators such as Openrouter, which list models, route all traffic through their own servers, and hold provider earnings until payout. AntSeed instead allows buyers to discover providers directly, send requests peer‑to‑peer, and settle payments instantly in $USDC to a provider’s wallet.

According to a media statement, the network requires no accounts, no API keys, and has no approval process or central point of control.

“OpenRouter and similar aggregators helped define the market for unified AI access, but that market does not need to remain centralized,” said Shahaf Antwarg, Antseed’s co‑founder. “AntSeed gives AI consumers and providers a direct, peer‑to‑peer alternative where access, reputation, and payments are coordinated by the network rather than a single platform.”

Discovery on Antseed uses the same peer‑to‑peer protocol that powers Bittorrent, eliminating reliance on a central server. All transactions are recorded on‑chain, making track records public, portable, and tamper‑resistant.

The US 10-year Treasury yield surged to 4.54% on May 15, its highest point since May 2025, after hotter than expected CPI and PPI data stoked fears of a Federal Reserve rate hike. The 30-year yield crossed 5% while the 2-year broke above 4%.
Inflation and yields hit crypto and equities
Bitcoin fell as low as $78,600, down roughly 4% from Thursday’s $82,000 high, before stabilising slightly above $79,000. The selloff spread to equities, with the Nasdaq 100 opening 1.7% lower and the S&P 500 falling 1.2%.

“The 10Y Note Yield is now above 4.50% for the first time since June 2025,” the Kobeissi Letter noted on X. “Rate hikes are now the base case for the Fed’s expected next move.”

Crypto-linked equities were hit harder. Coinbase dropped nearly 6%, Circle fell 7.4% and Strategy slid 5.4%. Bitcoin miners MARA Holdings and Hut 8 each lost around 7%, while Cipher Mining fell nearly 9%.

CME FedWatch showed more than 44% probability of a Fed rate hike by December, a sharp reversal from expectations of multiple rate cuts at the start of 2026. Gold fell 2.5% while oil rose 3%, crossing $100 per barrel as energy inflation compounded yield pressure.
April CPI came in at 3.8% while PPI matched 2022 levels at 6%, according to official data. Futures traders who began 2026 pricing two or more Fed cuts now expect rates to stay elevated through at least the first half of 2027.
Bitcoin remains below its 200-day moving average heading into the weekend, caught between a regulatory tailwind from the Clarity Act’s Senate progress and a macro headwind from rising yields and accelerating inflation.
