team behind the Official Trump (TRUMP) meme coin announced Thursday that the top 297 token holders by time-weighted balance will be eligible to attend a luncheon with President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida on April 25. The top 29 holders will additionally qualify for a private reception with Trump. Eligibility is based on holdings tracked between March 12 and April 10, and all attendees must pass a background check.

The TRUMP token rose to a 24-hour high of $3.06 following the announcement, recovering from an all-time low of $2.73 reached earlier the same day. The token trades at $2.94 at the time of writing, up 2.4% over 24 hours, but remains down 96% from its January 2025 all-time high of $73.43.

A White House official told Politico that the April 25 event is not confirmed on Trump's schedule. The date also overlaps with Trump's previously stated plan to attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner, creating uncertainty about whether the memecoin event will proceed as advertised.
The announcement marks the second time TRUMP holders have been offered exclusive access to the president. The first event took place at a Trump golf club last May. Tron founder Justin Sun attended as the largest tokenholder present, reportedly receiving a watch during a ceremony. Infinex founder Kain Warwick also attended after accumulating enough TRUMP to rank within the top 25 holders on the leaderboard.

The structure of the new event mirrors the previous one, using a leaderboard and time-weighted holdings to determine access. The requirement for background checks is a new addition, as is the tiered access system separating the top 29 from the broader pool of 297 eligible attendees.

It appears that Custodia Bank first sought a master account in October of 2020 to gain access to central bank systems directly. A master account allows financial institutions to hold reserve accounts directly with a Federal Reserve system. This means that banks that do not have access to a master account must go through an intermediary bank to process payments. The bank argued that federal law allows state-chartered banks to access Federal Reserve services, such as a master account. The courts disagreed with this argument.

Court Ruling Reinforces Federal Reserve Authority
The law does not require the Federal Reserve to automatically approve the application of a master account, according to the ruling. The ruling reinforced the fact that the Reserve Banks have the authority to review the risks before the institutions gain access. Regulators had previously turned down Custodia Bank’s application based on the risks of the banking model, which is digital asset-focused. Regulators had previously raised concerns that crypto-related activities could potentially cause risks to the stability of the financial sector as well as the institutions. The ruling reinforced the Federal Reserve’s authority as the gatekeeper of institutions seeking access to the national payment rails.

As the conflict in the Middle East enters its 12th day the US stock market is still holding up, but will Bitcoin do the same? As things stand, after the surge out of the descending channel and up to $74,000, it is not looking like Bitcoin will lead global markets out of their current period of sideways uncertainty.

Since then, the $BTC price has come back down to retest the top of the channel, but has so far failed to get near that $74K pivot high. There is still time, but if the bulls are unable to defend the major $69,000 horizontal support, Bitcoin could be the canary in the coalmine that leads global markets into a downward leg, especially if the war does not go well for the US.

If the major support does fail, the next ports of call could be $67,600 and $65,800, the latter probably coinciding with the top of the descending channel.
