II. Events: Attacks on Aluminum Smelters in Multiple Middle Eastern Countries Cause a Surge in Aluminum Futures

1) Bahrain Aluminium confirmed on March 29 that its plants were attacked by Iran on March 28, and the company is assessing the property damage. Previously, the company had declared "force majeure" due to shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, reducing production by approximately 20%.

On the same day, Emirates Global Aluminium disclosed that its Tawira smelter facility in Kezad, Abu Dhabi, suffered severe damage in an Iranian missile and drone attack, injuring several employees.
