38% of Altcoins Near All-Time Lows, Worse Than FTX, Says Crypto Quant The analyst said crypto markets are among the first to absorb pressure when investors shift toward defensive positioning.

About 38% of altcoins are trading at or near their all-time lows, according to Crypto Quant analyst Darkfost. That figure now exceeds the 37.8% reading recorded in the immediate aftermath of the FTX collapse. It also surpasses the 35% level measured in April 2025. Darkfost described the current environment as "unfavorable" for risk-on assets.

The analyst said crypto markets are among the first to absorb pressure when investors shift toward defensive positioning. Liquidity is moving out of altcoins and into equities and commodities, he said. Darkfost called the current drawdown the largest regression recorded during this market cycle.

Trading volume data reflects the shift. Daily volume peaked at over $417 billion on Oct. 10, the date of the historic crypto market crash, according to CoinMarketCap. By February and March 2026, daily volumes had dropped to a range of $49.4 billion to $268 billion.

The Total3 metric, which tracks the combined market capitalization of all crypto assets excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum, has retraced to November 2024 levels. POLKADOT hit an all-time low of $1.13 in February before recovering 33%.

Bitcoin $BTC$70,442.81 and global equity markets have stabilized after an early-week sell-off and oil price spike that was triggered by the outbreak of military conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran. Bond markets, however, are signaling caution, as rising yields signal renewed inflation concerns and dwindling bets on Fed rate cuts.

$BTC, the leading cryptocurrency by market value, traded above $70,000 Friday, up nearly 10% for the week. Prices briefly climbed to nearly $74,000 Wednesday after dropping to around $65,000 over the weekend as geopolitical tensions rattled markets.

The rebound has been mirrored in equity futures. Contracts tied to the S&P 500 slid to a multi-week low of 6,718 points Tuesday before recovering to around 6,840 as of writing.

The initial risk-off move came as oil prices surged following reports that Iran had blocked oil tankers transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global crude supplies. Markets stabilized after the U.S. moved quickly to calm fears, promising naval escorts and political risk insurance for oil and gas tankers traveling through the strait.

Still, the bond market remains uneasy.

The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note has risen for four consecutive days, climbing from 3.93% to 4.15%. Bond prices move inversely to yields. Meanwhile, the two-year yield, which is more sensitive to interest rate expectations, has jumped from 3.37% to nearly 3.60%.

The move higher in yields suggests traders are reassessing the outlook for monetary policy as the conflict-driven spike in energy prices threatens to rekindle inflation pressures.

According to the company, roughly 80% of those nodes operate outside the traditional Web3 ecosystem. The collaboration aims to strengthen how environmental observations and geospatial data are recorded and verified in predictive modelling for insurers, financial institutions, and infrastructure operators.

Climate modelling is becoming increasingly central to financial decision-making, yet the data pipelines feeding these models remain fragmented, lack strong oversight, and are often difficult to audit.
