Pi Network's PI token continues to defy the overall market trend with a massive double-digit gains daily.

The altcoins are bleeding out as well daily, with ETH going below $2,000, and BNB dipping beneath $630. PI is among the few exceptions today with a notable price surge.

PI Defies the Market :-

The graph below will clearly demonstrate that the bears continue to dominate the altcoin market. ETH is down by nearly 5% to under $2,000 now, SOL has lost a similar percentage to $84, while BNB, XRP, DOGE, BCH, and XMR are down by 2-3%.

Even more painful losses are evident from SKY, ZEC, SUI, and AAVE. In fact, the only notable exception from the top 100 alts is Pi Network’s native token. PI has soared by another 13% daily and now trades close to $0.23 for the first time in three months. Perhaps the most probable reason behind this impressive performance is the ongoing protocol updates.

Nevertheless, the total crypto market cap has shed over $50 billion in a day and is down to $2.4 trillion on CG.

Naturally, the question arises - What's driving the bullish sentiment? Well, Stretch [STRC], Strategy's perpetual fund index, has climbed for four straight days, reclaiming the $100-mark and emerging as a key driver of this optimism.

For context, a breakout above $100 matters because Strategy funnels the yield generated from STRC shares directly into Bitcoin purchases, making this level a critical trigger for its broader accumulation strategy.

Technically, this dynamic is further reinforced by MSTR's institutional ownership. In a post on X, Strategy said Vanguard holds an 8.12% stake. That makes it the largest among its top 10 institutional shareholders.

Meanwhile, STRC has raised its dividend from 11.25% to 11.5%, further strengthening investor confidence. Now, if both STRC's market performance and MSTR's solid revenue base are looked at together, is a 10,000 BTC purchase by Strategy by Monday really that far-fetched?

Morgan Stanley has named the Bank of New York Mellon and Coinbase as custodians for its planned Bitcoin Trust exchange-traded fund (ETF), according to a filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday. The Wall Street giant selected the global banking firm and the crypto exchange to safeguard the assets tied to the proposed Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust. Morgan Stanley, ranked in the U.S. by total assets, plans to store its Bitcoin with Coinbase Custody and BNY.According to the amended S-1 registration statement for the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust, Coinbase Custody and BNY will store the fund’s entire Bitcoin holdings primarily in cold storage—offline systems used to safeguard private keys. A smaller portion of the BTC may periodically be transferred to internet-connected hot wallets to facilitate the creation and redemption of shares.The filing stated that BNY Mellon operates as a New York state-chartered bank, while Coinbase Custody is structured as a New York state limited liability trust company. Both entities offer digital asset services, including custody and trade execution. The trust also noted that while custody insurance is in place, the coverage is pooled among multiple clients and may not fully protect against all possible losses.BNY Mellon will also take on multiple roles within the ETF’s framework, acting as the fund administrator, transfer agent, and cash custodian. In these capacities, the bank will manage accounting functions, maintain shareholder records, and oversee the cash movements associated with ETF transactions.Morgan Stanley initially submitted its S-1 registration for the spot Bitcoin ETF in January and also filed applications to launch exchange-traded funds tied to Ethereum and Solana. At the time, the firm did not disclose which institution would serve as custodian for the proposed Bitcoin fund.
