The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart sits near 50, signaling a balanced market. These contradictory price movements imply that there is no clear bullish or bearish momentum dominating the cryptocurrency market, which is extremely erratic.

In fact, there were no clear indications of bulls or bears on the RSI for either $ETH or $SOL as well.
Grayscale paints a concerning picture for $ETH and $SOL

At the same time, Zach Pandl, Head of Research at Grayscale, presented his analysis indicating that Ethereum and Solana may become more scarce assets due to their respective networks’ consideration of lowering the annual production of new tokens.
Currently, issuing new $ETH and $SOL, which expands the total supply, helps to fund staking rewards on Ethereum and Solana.

This inflation would be decreased by the suggested modifications. Comparable to lowering the production of a commodity, the value of the current tokens may rise if demand remains constant or rises and fewer new tokens are introduced to the market.

According to Pandl, by 2031, the annual supply growth of $ETH and $SOL may drop to about 0.4% and 1.1%, respectively, bringing them closer to Bitcoin’s supply growth and below gold’s estimated 1.8% annual supply growth.

What about stakers?

For stakers, there is a trade-off, though. People who stake their tokens will get fewer tokens as rewards if there are fewer new $ETH and $SOL created.

On Friday, 14th August, Open Interest on Shiba Inu [$SHIB] positions rose from $46.54 million the day before to $52.79 million. According to Coinglass, this hinted at a 13.4% hike. This speculative volume flood was accompanied by an uptick of 4.03% too.

That’s not all though as Coinalyze’s data revealed that spot demand for Shiba Inu has been steady lately. The weekend tends to see lower trading volume, but $SHIB bulls might be able to drive a bigger rally next week if the spot and speculative buying pressure is maintained.

Let’s break down whether swing traders should adopt a bullish or bearish bias.

Short-term upward momentum shouldn’t fool $SHIB bulls

In a recent report, AMBCrypto highlighted the bearish swing structure of Shiba Inu on the 1-day timeframe. The bounce in late July extended to $0.00000583 but only tested an overhead supply zone.

Since that bounce, the memecoin has fallen by 21.4% in three weeks.
A local support zone at $0.0000046 was flipped to resistance over the past week. The short-term upward momentum on Friday saw the popular memecoin surge into this overhead supply zone.

The H4 timeframe’s technical indicators showed bears had the upper hand at press time. The RSI was above the neutral 50-level after the recent price bounce, but momentum was not strongly bullish.

Meanwhile, the CMF remained below -0.05 for the majority of August. The capital outflows from the market have been considerable, according to the indicator.

As it stands, the sustained demand needed to break the supply zone is not at hand.

Abu Dhabi’s $764M Bitcoin Bet Holds Firm Through Market Pain
Mubadala Investment Company and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, or ADIC, disclosed the positions in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) covering holdings as of June 30. Together, the funds reported approximately 22.94 million shares of Blackrock’s Ishares Bitcoin Trust, better known by its ticker IBIT.
Abu Dhabi Takes the Hit and Holds the Line

Mubadala reported 14,721,917 IBIT shares valued at approximately $490.1 million, while ADIC reported 8,218,712 shares worth about $273.6 million. Anyone who has followed institutional filings through a sell-off knows the share count tells the cleaner story here. Neither fund reduced its position.

At the end of March, those same shares were worth roughly $881 million. By June 30, about $118 million of that value had vanished. There was no portfolio maneuver capable of hiding the damage in the quarter-end numbers. Prices fell, the positions got hammered and both funds finished with exactly the same number of shares.

There is one important catch with Form 13F data. These filings are snapshots, not surveillance cameras, so they cannot prove that nothing was traded between March 31 and June 30. Both funds theoretically could have bought and sold IBIT during the quarter. What the filings prove is quite simpler: neither made a net retreat by quarter-end.
Mubadala Already Built Its Position Before the Pain Arrived

For Mubadala, IBIT is substantial without dominating the book. Its roughly $34.77 billion reported U.S. portfolio is overwhelmingly controlled by semiconductor manufacturer Globalfoundries, which accounts for about 95% of the reported value. Blackrock’s bitcoin fund IBIT sits a distant second at roughly 1.4%, but nothing else comes close behind the chipmaker.

The more revealing detail is how Mubadala got there. It increased its IBIT stake by nearly 16% during the first quarter, lifting its position from 12,702,323 shares to 14,72
