This week, Turkey officially opened its new Ay Yıldız (Crescent and Star) Joint Headquarters in Ankara.
🔹 The complex brings together:
• The Ministry of National Defense;
• The General Staff;
• The Land Forces Command;
• The Naval Forces Command;
• The Air Forces Command.
🔹 The headquarters was built to unify command and control across all branches of the Turkish Armed Forces, improving coordination and accelerating military decision-making.
🔹 The first major international event to be hosted at the new headquarters will be the NATO defense ministers' meeting on July 7–8, 2026.

⚠️ In concept, the facility resembles Egypt's Octagon—a centralized military command hub. However, the Turkish complex is focused on integrating the command structure of all military branches into a single high-tech headquarters, while Egypt's Octagon is part of a much larger defense and military administrative ecosystem.
