Cardano is showing signs of life after nearly 15,000 new wallet holders joined the ecosystem in a few days, even as its price rebounded from recent lows.

According to an analysis shared by Santiment Intelligence, the number of non-empty ADA wallets has increased by 14,783 since June 23, reversing a short-lived decline in holder count. At the same time, Cardano (ADA) has climbed toward the $0.20 level for the first time in roughly a month after rebounding sharply from its recent bottom.

The combination of rising wallet activity and improving price action suggests retail participation is returning after weeks of market uncertainty. Furthermore, ADA has climbed several places higher in the crypto market cap ranking to reflect the recent price growth.

DeFi protocol Summer.fi halts Lazy Summer vaults after $6 million exploitDecentralized finance protocol Summer.fi has paused its Lazy Summer vaults after an exploit that drained about $6 million from the Ethereum-based yield platform, according to the project and several blockchain security firms.
Lazy Summer is an automated yield platform that routes deposits across lending markets such as Aave and Morpho in search of higher returns while handling rebalancing on behalf of users.
The incident was first flagged by blockchain security firm Blockaid, with PeckShield and CertiK also reporting suspicious activity. Summer.fi later confirmed it was investigating the attack and said protocol guardians had paused affected vaults to prevent additional losses.
Early analyses suggest the attacker leverageda large flash loan attack, reportedly sourced through Morpho, to manipulate the accounting logic of Lazy Summer's automated USDC vaults.
DeFi security researcher Bhari noted that the exploit took advantage of a flaw in the code to inflate total assets, which they were then allowed to redeem for a net profit. The stolen funds were apparently converted to DAI on Curve before being transferred to the attacker's wallet.
The protocol had $22 million in total value locked before the exploit, according to DeFiLlama data. The protocol's SUMR token lost more than 18% of its value after the exploit was uncovered.

Is altcoin season here? Why Bitcoin’s $21B OI says not yet

According to Glassnode’s Altcoin Cycle Signal, altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin [BTC] overall, and the altcoin season is finally here. Interestingly, the denominator effect, which is usually responsible for the apparent strength in altcoins, is also strong this time.
This indicator matters because altcoins can sometimes look stronger simply when Bitcoin’s price is falling or moving sideways. In reality, that doesn’t necessarily reflect increased demand for altcoins. 
However, the crypto community offered a different perspective on the current situation. According to an analyst, Bitcoin’s Open Interest (OI) was $21.11 billion, which is much higher than altcoins’ OI of $16.36 billion.

This indicates that traders are still concentrating on Bitcoin and that there may be space for more expansion in the altcoin market as a whole.

Historically, altcoin rallies have often peaked when altcoin OI surpasses Bitcoin’s OI. Remarking on which, the analyst added, 

For now, it looks like alts still have room to run. But once Alts OI > Bitcoin OI, you need to start looking for the exit.

In fact, according to Zach Pandl, Head of Research of Grayscale, the current price of Bitcoin may offer an alluring long-term buying opportunity. 

He said,

In my view, current Bitcoin $BTC price will prove to be good entry point or exceptional entry point, depending on three variables: Fed rate hikes, CLARITY Act, and Strategy’s balance sheet.

At first glance, the numbers look bearish. Billions of dollars have left ETF products, and even a single day of strong inflows wasn't enough to reverse the broader weekly trend. That naturally raises questions about institutional demand.
What I find more interesting, however, is the divergence beneath the headlines. While ETFs have been seeing sustained withdrawals, on-chain data has suggested that some large Bitcoin holders have continued accumulating during the same period.
To me, this is a reminder that ETF flows represent one channel of institutional activity—not the entire market. Capital can move differently across regulated funds, OTC desks, corporate treasuries, and long-term holders.
I'll continue watching whether ETF flows stabilize in the coming weeks, but I'll also compare them with on-chain accumulation and spot demand, because the strongest market signals usually appear when multiple indicators begin moving in the same direction.

Bitcoin $BTC$62,867.66 has dropped by 28% so far this year, a brutal slide that looks even worse through the lens of the Sharpe Ratio, a metric professional investors use to determine what slice of their portfolio should be allocated to a specific asset.

The Sharpe Ratio is the gold standard for measuring risk-adjusted returns and was developed by Nobel Prize-winning economist William F. Sharpe.

Bitcoin's 365-day rolling Sharpe Ratio plummeted to -21 at the end of June, the lowest since late 2022, according to data source CryptoQuant. It was recently hovering just short of -20.

Cantor says Strategy's recovery hinges on restoring STRC to parCantor said Strategy's (MSTR) top priority is restoring its STRC preferred stock to par, arguing that doing so is key to restarting the company's bitcoin BTC$61,590.10 acquisition engine and strengthening its capital structure.

After meeting with Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, the Wall Street investment bank said it came away more confident in management's plan to stabilize the balance sheet and revive capital raising.

In early Monday trading, STRC changed hands at $87.79, bitcoin was near $61,800, and MSTR was down 3.4% at $97.34. Just minutes ago, Strategy announced the sale of $216 million of bitcoin, with the cash to be used to fund STRC dividends.

Rather than viewing preferred holders, common shareholders and bitcoin investors as competing interests, the bank argued STRC is the foundation of Strategy's funding model.

"This makes it a good time to either buy STRC—capturing both the spread to par as well as the instrument’s substantial yield—or to buy shares of MSTR common—which should rally as the overall capital structure moves to firmer footing," analysts led by Ramsey El-Assal said in the Monday note to clients.

The analysts expect the company to keep increasing cash reserves backing STRC dividends until the preferred trades back at par, calling the recent increase from roughly 10 to 18 months of dividend coverage the first step in that process. Management could take additional actions, including buybacks if necessary, but cash reserves are viewed as the primary tool.

The report also dismissed concerns over Strategy's upcoming convertible debt maturities, saying the company should either restart its STRC-driven capital engine before major repayments come due or refinance the debt.
