On June 23rd, Cathal Kennedy, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets, stated in a report that preliminary UK PMI data for June suggests economic growth could slow significantly in the coming quarters. The UK Composite PMI Flash, which measures activity in both the services and manufacturing sectors, fell to 49.4 in June, down from 49.7 in May. This figure was weaker than the average forecast of 50.3 from economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal.
