Fed Policy Expectations Drive Divergence Across Markets
Grayscale Investments is tying bitcoin’s lag behind equities to a repricing of Federal Reserve policy, arguing that bitcoin could narrow the performance gap with stocks if the Fed holds off on rate hikes. In a June 22 research note, the crypto asset manager said changing rate expectations have contributed to the divergence between equities, bitcoin, and gold.

U.S. equities have gained 9% since the start of the Iran war in late February, supported in part by sustained spending tied to artificial intelligence infrastructure and development, Grayscale detailed. Over the same period, bitcoin has fallen 1%, while gold has dropped 20%, creating one of the widest performance gaps among major macro assets.

For context, black swan events cause sudden, largely unexpected crises that trigger sharp panic selling across the market, including Bitcoin. However, once the initial turmoil subsides, markets have historically transitioned into recovery phases.

Over the years, the crypto market has endured several black swans. Notably, the collapse of the Mt. Gox exchange in 2014, the COVID-19 market crash in 2020, and the implosion of FTX in 2022 all coincided with major Bitcoin cycle lows. Although Bitcoin initially reacted negatively to each event, it later staged powerful recoveries.

Can TRUMP memecoin extend its rally as bulls target $2.27 breakout?The Official Trump [TRUMP] memecoin extended its bullish streak for a second consecutive day. The factors driving the positive momentum in the memecoin appear to be the broader market recovery and traders’ bullish bets.

At press time, TRUMP climbed 3.15% over the past 24 hours and was trading at the $1.90 level. Alongside the price increase, the memecoin’s trading volume also surged by 25% to $281 million. According to the daily chart, TRUMP’s broader market trend remains bearish, driven by the breakdown of multiple key support levels, including $4.67, $2.73, and $2.27 over the past six months.In fact, the memecoin continues to trade below the 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) while forming a bearish lower-high and lower-low structure since its launch, indicating that sellers remain in control and the overall trend favors further downside. Based on the current price action, TRUMP is taking support from an ascending trendline that has been in place since the 5th of June 2026. If the memecoin remains above this trendline, it could continue to gain upward momentum. However, a major rally will only be possible if it breaks above the key resistance level of $2.27, which has acted as a significant hurdle since May 2026. Moreover, the possibility of a potential decline still exists, and it could occur if TRUMP breaks below the ascending trendline. If that happens, the market could witness a new low in the coming days.

At the time of writing, TRUMP’s Average Directional Index (ADX) has fallen to 19.13, indicating weak trend strength in the asset. This suggests that the current price momentum is likely to fade, which further adds bearish pressure

CFTC Opens Comment on 24/7 Energy Futures and Perpetual Oil ContractsThe CFTC asked the public to weigh in on running standard futures around the clock and on listing perpetual contracts tied to physically delivered energy commodities such as crude oil. The request opens the door to importing the crypto-native perpetual design into the oil and gas derivatives markets.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued the request for comment Monday afternoon, organizing it around two questions. The first asks how standard futures, including energy futures, would function on a 24/7 schedule with no change to their fixed expiration, delivery, or settlement terms. The second asks what happens when perpetual contracts reference physically delivered or storable energy commodities. Comments are due within 30 days of the notice's publication in the Federal Register, per the CFTC release.

The filing is a request for comment, a procedural step that gathers input ahead of any rulemaking rather than a proposed rule with regulatory text attached. The agency says it "intends to use the information and comments received to inform its understanding of these developments."

Selig's Innovation Pledge
Chairman Michael Selig framed the move as supporting new market designs without loosening guardrails. "As registered entities extend trading hours and introduce new contract designs, a clear, target="__blank" rel="noopener noreferrer ">said in the release. He added that the request "reflects the Commission's commitment to supporting responsible innovation, while preserving the protections against manipulation and market disruption that participants and the public rely on."

Secret Network's cross-chain bridge to Axelar has been suspended after an attacker exploited a years-old minting flaw to drain $4.67 million in wrapped tokens over seven undetected days.

Both teams disclosed the incident on June 19, confirming approximately $4.67 million in assets were taken from the bridge's Axelar-to-Secret IBC connection. The attack itself began on June 10 but went unnoticed for seven days until a routine cross-chain transfer failed because the bridge's escrow account had been depleted.

Minting Flaw

The vulnerability lived in a modified CW20-ICS20 smart contract deployed on Secret Network for the Axelar bridge connection. Security research firm Common Prefix published a technical breakdown of the incident, finding that two critical validation checks had been commented out from the contract's packet-receive function: one that should have verified incoming token denominations against the legitimate source channel, and one that should have capped outflows to amounts genuinely held in escrow.

The flaw dates to the contract's initial deployment in March 2023 and survived a migration on March 5, 2026 that updated the bytecode for new features but preserved the missing checks. Secret Network's default transaction encryption obscured the growing shortfall from on-chain observers; the attack ran for seven days before a failed transfer surfaced it.

To exploit the gap, the attacker spun up a single-validator Cosmos SDK chain and opened a new IBC channel to Secret Network. IBC channel creation is permissionless by design, meaning any chain can initiate a connection. The attacker self-relayed forged IBC packets carrying bare denominations that matched the bridge's allow-list. With both validation checks missing, the contract minted unbacked wrapped tokens on

The first order, Executive Order 14411, establishes the Quantum Computer for Application Development and Discovery Science, or QC-ADDS, initiative. Under the directive, the Department of Energy must identify technical requirements for an advanced quantum computer within 90 days and work toward deploying at least one such system at a federal research facility.
