The court imposed 80 day-fines totaling about $2,700 (€2,480), plus a roughly $90 surcharge.

Kärkkäinen denied wrongdoing, arguing his streams were entertainment rather than commercial marketing, were not aimed at Finland, and that he did not control the website carrying the casino links. The court rejected that, pointing to repeated Finnish-language promotions - such as "150 free spins for just €10" - posted beside links to his site, and held that a gambling-marketing conviction does not require proof the promoter was paid or benefited; his purpose to promote the operators was enough.

The case is unusual mainly for its visibility. Finnish influencers have promoted offshore casinos for years, but enforcement has run through administrative channels - including a roughly $27,000 conditional fine the National Police Board imposed on Kärkkäinen in 2024, upheld on appeal, after which he relocated to Estonia to keep working with foreign operators.

Recent volatility in the cryptocurrency market has drawn investors’ attention to selling pressure, and market analysis company Swissblock, in its new report, stated that the biggest risk facing Bitcoin is not direct sell-offs, but the strengthening US dollar.

According to the company’s assessment, a significant portion of Bitcoin’s past bear markets coincided with periods when the US Dollar Index (DXY) recovered from its lows and entered an upward trend. Analysts emphasized that risky assets generally come under pressure during periods when the dollar gains strength in global markets, and Bitcoin is significantly affected by this situation.

The report states that while a weak dollar created a supportive environment for Bitcoin, market sentiment reversed as the DXY index returned to an upward trend. According to Swissblock, a strong dollar reduces liquidity in the markets, lowers investor risk appetite, and increases selling pressure. These developments limit Bitcoin’s upside potential.

Analysts also evaluated the price movements seen in recent months. They stated that the increases experienced in April and the first days of May should be considered temporary recoveries rather than the beginning of a sustained bull market. According to the report, these increases were not strong enough to eliminate the fundamental problems in macroeconomic conditions.

Swissblock stated that for Bitcoin to re-enter a strong and sustainable upward trend, the upward momentum in the US dollar needs to weaken. It is predicted that as long as the dollar maintains its power in the global financial system, new capital inflows into the cryptocurrency market may remain limited, and investors may act more cautiously.

Bitcoin has reclaimed the $65,000 level after the U.S. Treasury temporarily authorized Iranian oil sales amid progress in talks with Tehran.

According to data from crypto.news, Bitcoin ($BTC) climbed more than 3.5% from an intraday low of $63,231 to a high of $65,468 on Monday, June 22, before easing to around $65,000 at press time. The asset's recovery came as investors responded to signs of improving geopolitical conditions and falling energy prices.

In a statement released on June 22, the U.S. Treasury announced a General License allowing the production, delivery, and sale of crude oil, petroleum products, and petrochemicals of Iranian origin through Aug. 21, 2026.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent linked the decision to recent diplomatic developments in Switzerland. Bessent stated that ongoing talks had been productive and noted that Iran had committed to maintaining free transit through the Strait of Hormuz while also permitting inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to return to the country.

Ethereum remained inside a broader descending channel, even as spot price action showed little movement around the $1,700 area.

The token traded at $1,736 at press time, up 0.08% on the day, according to the report by Gladys Makena and reviewed by Renuka Tahelyani. The narrow move did not change the larger structure.

Large holders appeared less willing to wait for a confirmed breakdown.

Onchain Lens said the whale wallet “pension-usdt.eth” increased a 3x leveraged ETH short to 50,000 ETH, worth $85.28 million. The position carried more than $1.43 million in unrealized profit, while another whale opened a 23,000 ETH short with 20x leverage before closing it for about $125,000 in profit.

ETH Traders

The bearish whale activity did not match the wider derivatives market.

CoinGlass data showed $22 million in short liquidations, a sign that aggressive downside bets were still vulnerable to sudden moves. Coinalyze data also showed the long-short ratio rising to 2.73, with about 73% of open positions long and 26% short.

That split leaves Ethereum between two forces.

Whale shorts suggest confidence in another leg lower, but broad trader positioning shows many market participants still expect a rebound. The Directional Movement Index from TradingView showed the negative directional indicator still leading, while the ADX sat near 5.
