XRP Ledger Defies Market Outflows With $1.7B in RWA InflowsThe XRP Ledger (XRPL) continues to attract capital into its real-world asset (RWA) ecosystem even as major blockchain networks face heavy outflows.

Data shared from RWA.xyz shows XRPL recorded $1.7 billion in net RWA inflows over the past 60 days. In contrast, several leading networks posted significant declines during the same period.

Ethereum led the outflows with $5.8 billion leaving the network. Arbitrum followed with $3.0 billion in outflows, while Solana and Polygon recorded declines of $653 million and $250 million, respectively.

Crypto Industry Unites Behind Bill to Fix Tax Rules for Miners and Stakers

U.S. crypto groups are urging Congress to pass H.R. 9175, which would let miners and stakers defer taxes until assets are sold instead of taxing rewards at receipt.

The three largest U.S. crypto trade associations sent a joint letter to the House Ways and Means Committee on June 21, calling for passage of H.R. 9175, the Tax Clarity for Mining and Staking Act, introduced by Representative Mike Carey (R-OH). 

The Blockchain Association, Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI), and Digital Chamber described the bill as “a durable compromise” and pressed lawmakers to pass it without changes.

The dispute between the IRS and the crypto industry over mining and staking taxes stretches back over a decade. 

In 2014, the IRS issued Notice 2014-21, which declared that miners must report the fair market value of any mined Bitcoin as gross income at the moment of creation — not at the point of sale. The rule treats mined coins like wages: taxable on receipt, whether or not the miner ever converts them to cash.

The situation for stakers worsened in 2023, when the IRS published Revenue Ruling 2023-14, extending the same logic to proof-of-stake validators. Under that ruling, staking rewards are taxable income the moment a validator earns them, creating a cash-flow problem: validators owe tax on assets they may have no intention of selling.

This dynamic pushes U.S.-based miners and stakers into a difficult position. Proof-of-work and proof-of-stake networks secure more than $1.7 trillion in digital assets. The trade groups argue that forcing participants to recognize income on illiquid rewards discourages domestic validation activity and cedes ground to foreign competitors operating under more favorable tax treatment.

Crypto market’s weekly winners and losers – AERO, JTO, BEAT, DEXE
Here's a look at how some of the market's most popular cryptocurrencies performed over the past week.This week in crypto, the market stayed relatively mixed.

Bitcoin traded in a tight range as investors waited for fresh signals from U.S. interest rate policy, while overall sentiment remained cautious. Altcoins saw the bigger moves, with a handful of tokens posting strong rallies while others suffered sharp corrections.

Overall, it was a week of selective momentum rather than a broad market breakout, with traders continuing to rotate capital into the strongest setups.strongest weekly mover, posting a 44% rally. This extends last week’s 13.7% gain, showing that buyers have been steadily stepping in on dips.

However, the setup is now getting more technical. On the weekly chart, AERO pushed through the $0.50 resistance zone, a level it hadn’t reclaimed since the early May cycle. That breakout is bullish, but it also creates overhead pressure where profit-taking could slow momentum in the short term.

At the same time, the asset is cooling off slightly, with a 2% intraday pullback after RSI pushed above 75. That kind of move, however, usually points to a short-term cooldown rather than a full trend reversal

“70% of All My Wealth Is in Bitcoin,” Asserts Mexico’s Richest Man Amid $1M Price Prediction

Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas, a well-known Bitcoin advocate, has doubled down on his bullish outlook, confirming that a significant portion of his investment portfolio remains allocated to Bitcoin.

Speaking during a Thursday interview with Coindesk, Salinas clarified remarks that have circulated widely online regarding the size of his Bitcoin exposure.

“Wealth includes a lot of assets,” Salinas said. “What I said is I have 70% of my liquid portfolio, of my investment portfolio, so my financial assets, excluding my businesses, excluding my real assets like home, boats, planes, cars, whatever.”

He added that, following recent market movements, his Bitcoin allocation has increased further.

“Now I’m up to about 80% Bitcoin in this dip and 20% gold and silver miners,” he noted.
Remarkably, Salinas revealed that his journey into Bitcoin began in 2013 when the cryptocurrency traded between $200 and $400. Initially viewing it as another speculative asset, he later concluded that Bitcoin represented a fundamentally different form of money.

The billionaire credited much of his evolving perspective to studying monetary history and examining the shortcomings of fiat currencies. Over time, he became convinced that Bitcoin offered advantages that traditional stores of value could not match.

However, while he continues to hold exposure to gold and silver miners, Bitcoin remains his primary investment focus. He also dismissed the idea of rotating capital into artificial intelligence-related stocks, arguing that many AI investments appear overpriced from a value-investing perspective.
