Cardano Discord Proposal Sparks Backlash as Cyber Capital Founder Calls for Hoskinson’s Removal
Cyber Capital founder and CIO Justin Bons has criticized Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson over his proposed plans to migrate the ADA community to a dedicated Discord server. 

The proposal to migrate the Cardano community from X to a dedicated Discord server has sparked fresh controversy, drawing criticism from prominent industry figures while gaining support from members who believe it could improve governance discussions.

Among the most vocal critics is Cyber Capital founder and CIO Justin Bons, who has criticized Hoskinson over the initiative. 

Bons described the proposed Discord migration as the “final straw,” arguing that moving governance discussions into a moderated Discord server would centralize community discourse.

Notably, he called on Cardano stakeholders to remove Hoskinson to limit his influence over the ecosystem. According to Bons, stakeholder governance exists precisely to hold influential figures accountable when necessary.

He also linked the controversy to broader concerns about Cardano’s technical progress. Specifically, Bons argued that the network has failed to meet expectations and pointed to Cardano’s maximum transaction throughput of 23 transactions per second (TPS) in 2026 as evidence that promised improvements have not materialized.

Top executives at Kalshi have engaged in early, informal talks with investment banks about a future IPO, The Information reported today, citing people close to the company’s financials.

The interest follows a sharp run-up in business at the top prediction market company, which is generating annualized revenue north of $2 billion, about three times what it was in November, after a wave of NBA and World Cup betting boosted trading volume.

As part of the IPO discussions, Kalshi is asking prospective advisers to integrate with its platform, giving banks’ institutional clients access to trade on it, according to the report.

Any public listing is still likely at least a year away, with late next year or 2028 the expected timeframe.

The latest development comes as the prediction market platform reached a $22 billion valuation after closing a $1 billion financing led by Coatue and supported by investors including Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, IVP, Paradigm, Morgan Stanley, and ARK Invest.

The company said its institutional trading volume had jumped 800% in the six months ending in early May, helping annualized trading volume increase from $52 billion to $178 billion.

Kalshi said it would deploy the capital towards institutional growth, including new products for hedge funds, asset managers, insurers, and trading firms, as well as enhancements to its trading infrastructure.

STRC’s plunge puts Saylor’s Bitcoin dividend machine under pressure
STRC’s plunge is forcing investors to ask whether Saylor can defend Strategy’s high-yield dividend machine without selling Bitcoin, diluting shareholders, or breaking confidence in the trade.
Strategy’s STRC preferred stock fell to $82.61 intraday, nearly 17% below its $100 stated amount before recovering.

02That drop pushed STRC’s effective yield to about 13%, raising annual dividend costs on $10.5 billion notional to roughly $1.21 billion.

03Strategy now faces a choice between higher payouts, Bitcoin sales, MSTR issuance, or buybacks as confidence in the structure weakens.

STRC, Strategy's perpetual preferred stock, traded as low as $82.61 on June 18 before recovering to $88.59, putting the security nearly 17% below its $100 stated amount at the intraday low.

MSTR fell 3.4% to $112.53 during the same session, while Bitcoin traded near $62,730, down about 2.5%.

Strategy designed STRC to hover around $100 through monthly dividend-rate adjustments, currently set at 11.50% annualized, payable semi-monthly in cash.

At $88.59, that 11.5% coupon implies an effective yield of roughly 13.0%, and the disconnect between the stated rate and market demand shows how far confidence has slipped.

With approximately $10.5 billion of STRC notional outstanding, an 11.5% annual rate implies roughly $1.21 billion in STRC-only dividend costs.

If the market keeps pricing below par and Strategy responds by raising the rate to 14%, the cost would rise to about $1.47 billion annually, which is a dynamic that critics have been warning about for months.
