Bitcoin (BTC) faced a 7% correction after failing to reclaim the $67,200 level on Monday, triggering $330 million liquidations in bullish leveraged positions. More concerningly, the drop happened while the Nasdaq 100 index showed strength, trading 1% away from its all-time high. Should Bitcoin traders brace for a $60,000 retest?The bullish momentum in the stock market likely came from the memorandum of understanding signed by US President Donald Trump and Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian. Crude oil prices fell to their lowest level in 15 weeks to $74, easing inflation risks. Moreover, US job market data boosted investors’ morale as continuing jobless claims held flat at 1.81 million.

Bitcoin’s decoupling from tech stocks coincides with US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Kevin Warsh’s remarks on Wednesday. Failed crypto trader has less than two days to prove he didn’t kill his motheA failed Australian crypto trader who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for murdering his mother has been given less than two days by the country’s Court of Appeals to prove he didn’t kill her to get his hands on a $1.2 million insurance payout.

Andre Rebelo was found guilty in December 2024 of the 2020 killing of his mother Colleen Rebelo. A court found that he had killed her and staged her body to make her death look like natural causes.

The West Australian reports that from September 16, Rebelo’s lawyers will have around a day and a half to convince the court of Rebelo’s claim that his mother died from a cardiac episode caused by a genetic mutation.

They will also argue that he couldn’t have been present due to the timings of her shower’s hot water system.

Rebelo forged mother’s will before murder
Rebelo and his social media influencer girlfriend, Grace Piscopo, reportedly lived a lavish lifestyle and Rebelo claimed that he’d made more than $500,000 trading cryptocurrencies.

However, prosecutors say this was a lie and the couple actually possessed over $100,000 worth of debt.

Colleen Rebelo was found dead in the shower of her home. Despite the death not initially being treated as suspicious, her insurance provider submitted a fraud report two years later.

It was subsequently discovered that her son had taken out three life insurance policies in her name days before her death, forged her will, and tried to cash it in days later.

Mashinsky was imprisoned for 12 years after pleading guilty to counts of securities and commodities fraud.
Earlier this year, the FTC permanently banned him from working in the cryptocurrency ecosystem again.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has resolved its 2023 enforcement action against Celsius founder Alex Mashinsky, permanently banning him from trading markets regulated by the CFTC.

The consent order also imposes a permanent CFTC registration ban on the former crypto founder, and marks the completion of the regulator’s first case against a digital asset lending platform, according to its 2023 press release.

Mashinsky, who also acted as the CEO of Celsius, was imprisoned for 12 years after pleading guilty to counts of securities and commodities fraud related to the unraveling of his lending business, which paused withdrawals and left customers without access to billions of dollars’ worth of deposits.

Shortly thereafter, Celsius filed for bankruptcy as it attempted to stabilize its business. Its actions were unsuccessful, though, and customers ended up losing more than $5 billion

Meanwhile, the X account BSCN revealed that $ADA’s daily trading volume, which climbed to $6.3 billion in August 2025, has recently tumbled to a mere $500 million. This trend suggests fading interest in the asset, which could hamper any chance of a meaningful recovery.

Popular analyst Ali Martinez presented another concerning development. He claimed that $ADA has been forming a bearish flag since the beginning of the month and is now breaking from the structure.
