As high-cap assets reclaim key levels, investors are once again positioning for the market’s next move.

Ethereum is a prime example. After rallying 4.07% on the 15th of June, ETH reclaimed $1.8k, posting its strongest single-day gain in two weeks.

The move came as broader market sentiment flipped back to risk-on, bringing renewed attention to whether the rally is being driven by speculative leverage or Spot demand.

On-chain and derivatives data suggest positioning is picking up. According to data from CryptoQuant, Ethereum open interest jumped 7.7%, marking its largest daily increase in a month.

Rising Open Interest alongside price appreciation typically signals that new positions are entering the market, adding weight to the debate over what is fueling ETH’s breakout.

SIREN jumps 54% after 95% crash –After crashing more than 95% following a whale selloff, siren [$SIREN] has shown signs of recovery. The memecoin fell to a low of $0.07 days ago after a whale dumped 670 million $SIREN worth $64 million.
However, as selling activity cooled, market pressure eased and upside volatility returned. The memecoin rallied to a local high of $0.112 before retracing slightly.

At press time, $SIREN traded at $0.109. According to CoinMarketCap, the token was up 54% over the past day and 36% over the past hour.

Despite these gains, the memecoin remained below all major moving averages, signaling persistent bearish pressure.

Sharp Drop in Bitcoin: What’s the Reason? Massive Liquidations Underway—Here’s the Latest

Bitcoin fell below the $63,000 level due to strong selling pressure, indicating weakening risk appetite in the cryptocurrency market. According to the latest data, the price of Bitcoin dropped to $62,644, losing over 5% in value in the last 24 hours.Ethereum fell by over 5% to $1,689, BNB dropped 4.90% to $576, XRP lost 5.83% to $1.14, and Solana fell 6.98% to $68.79. Among the top 10 cryptocurrencies, one of the sharpest drops was seen in Hyperliquid, which experienced a loss of over 11%.

The decline is believed to stem from the hawkish stance adopted by the Fed in its statement following yesterday’s interest rate decision.

The market commentator believes $XRP’s long-term growth could be driven by demand for cross-border payments, tokenization, and institutional adoption. If that happens, he expects the asset to experience sharp price surges over short periods rather than a slow, steady climb.

Aljarrah Expects Sharp $XRP Price Breakouts

In a post on X, Aljarrah said $XRP “won’t climb in a nice steady line” and will instead move in “violent leaps”. He argued that regulatory clarity, bank adoption, tokenization, and cross-border payment volumes could create powerful catalysts for the asset.

“The infrastructure has already been built and tested in silence for over a decade,” Aljarrah said.

He added that once conditions align, $XRP’s gains may go far beyond typical 2x or 3x moves.

According to Aljarrah, several factors could combine to accelerate price action. These include trapped liquidity, short sellers covering positions, and institutional investors entering the market at the same time. Together, they could trigger multiple explosive rallies within a relatively short period.

Crypto market positioning is 'defensive and thin' after Fed, Marex analysts sayThe crypto market slipped a day after the Federal Reserve raised expectations that U.S. interest rates are headed higher.

Bitcoin $BTC$64,087.40, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, was changing hands near $63,900, down more than 1% over the past 24 hours. Other major tokens, including $XRP ($XRP), ether (ETH), $BNB coin $BNB$590.15 and solana ($SOL), posted similar losses.

The CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20) fell more than 1.2% in the same period. The DeFi Select Index (DFX) slid 5%, the largest drop among all the CoinDesk benchmarks.

Still, there were pockets of strength. For instance, Provenance Blockchain's HASH token surged 15%, alongside a gain of almost 10% gain in Stellar's lumen (XLM).

"Sentiment is washed out, the fear gauge has plunged into extreme fear and $BTC is now about 48% off its $126k high from last October. Contrarian fuel if you have the patience, but a clear tell that positioning is defensive and conviction is thin," analysts at Marex said
