Bitcoin & Ethereum Now Trading on America’s Top Brokerage, Charles Schwab


America’s top brokerage firm, Charles Schwab, has officially rolled out trading for Bitcoin ($BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) on the Schwab Crypto platform through the Charles Schwab Premier Bank.

The phased launch will begin with an internal employee pilot, followed by a client waitlist pilot, followed by deeper expansion throughout Q2, 2026, and beyond. New York and Louisiana are currently exempt from the service.

Today’s announcement is a follow-up to the one that happened earlier this month. Charles Schwab now plans to integrate more cryptocurrencies and AI tools to cater to industry demand, while diversifying its revenue sources.

At present, the Texas-headquartered firm boasts about $1.48 trillion in assets under management (AUM), and up to 46 million active brokerage accounts managed by 16,000 advisors.

Aside from its flagship crypto product, Charles Schwab released its Q1 2026 earnings report today. Its net revenue grew 16% year-over-year to a record $6.48 billion, slightly missing the $6.50 billion expectation. This caused a 7.73% drop in its stock (NYSE: SCHW) on the day, with the stock trading at $92.53 at the time of writing.

That said, Bitcoin tapped $75K today, due to heightened demand in spot ETF inflows and hopes of a US-Iran ceasefire. Meanwhile, Ethereum was trading at $2,357 (down 0.75%) due to heightened selling pressure after an Ethereum long whale took out about $59M (120,000 $ETH) in profit.

Why is Injective (INJ) surging 10% after US futures launch?



Injective ($INJ) has recorded a sharp upward move over the past 24 hours, climbing more than 10% to trade above $3.30.

By the latest session, $INJ peaked around $3.41 before stabilising near $3.35, showing strong intraday demand and elevated trading activity.

The token’s sudden strength stood out in an otherwise quiet crypto market, where most major assets were largely flat.

The price surge was not random. It came shortly after the launch of US-regulated futures contracts on Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated exchange.

The introduction of $INJ futures on a CFTC-regulated platform marks a meaningful step forward for the asset’s positioning in the broader crypto market.

It places Injective alongside a small group of major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and XRP, that already have regulated futures markets in the United States.

This matters because regulated futures products open the door to institutional participation in a way that spot markets alone often cannot.

Hedge funds, trading firms, and asset managers can now gain exposure to $INJ without directly holding the token.

That reduces custody friction and expands the range of strategies that can be built around the asset, including hedging and leveraged positioning.

More importantly, the launch also begins what many traders refer to as a “track record window.”

This is a period where trading activity in regulated futures markets is monitored over time.

In practice, this can play a role in strengthening the case for future exchange-traded products, including potential ETF-related structures.

Every liquidation of the dense clusters resulted in a price spike. Notably, the most significant event was a short squeeze of thousands of USD worth of EIGEN between $0.16 and $0.17, which led to the breakout.

Right now, a few orders are forming above the price while more liquidity is gathering below $0.18. This could suggest a snapback as traders bet more on a correction.

Japan's Institutional Crypto Sentiment Hits New Highs in 2026



Nomura Holdings and its digital asset subsidiary Laser Digital have published their 2026 Institutional Investor Survey on Digital Asset Investment Trends, revealing a measurable shift in how Japanese institutional investors view crypto assets.

The survey, released on April 16, captures responses from 518 investment professionals across institutional investors, family offices, and public-interest organizations in Japan.

The findings point to growing confidence in digital assets as a legitimate portfolio component, with sentiment improving across nearly every metric compared to the previous survey conducted in June 2024.

Positive Sentiment on the Rise

31% of respondents described their outlook on crypto assets over the next year as positive — up 6 percentage points from 25% in the 2024 survey. At the same time, the share of respondents holding a negative view fell to 18%, down 5 points from 23%. The remaining 51% maintained a neutral stance.

The survey also found a strong correlation between knowledge and optimism: 58% of respondents who self-identified as having high crypto knowledge held a positive view, suggesting that deeper familiarity with the asset class tends to improve perception.

Diversification Remains the Top Driver

65% of respondents said they view crypto assets as an opportunity to diversify their portfolios alongside traditional holdings like cash, stocks, bonds, and commodities — up 3 percentage points from 62% in 2024.

Diversification was cited as the primary reason for planned crypto investment, with respondents also highlighting crypto's low correlation with other asset classes.
