Strategy has significantly expanded its digital asset treasury, acquiring 17,994 Bitcoin for approximately $1.28 billion.

Strategy has extended its relentless Bitcoin ($BTC) buying spree by purchasing an additional $1.28 billion worth of Bitcoin. This comes after Michael Saylor, the company's executive chairman, teased the purchase on Thursday.

According to a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the corporate intelligence and software firm acquired 17,994 Bitcoin ($BTC) between March 2 and March 8. Its average purchasing price was $70,946 per $BTC.

With this latest purchase, Strategy's total aggregate Bitcoin holdings have reached a staggering 738,731 $BTC.

During the same March 2 to March 8 window, the company raised approximately $1.276 billion in net proceeds through the sale of both common and preferred stock.

Dogecoin volume up 87%

At the same time, the platform rolled out a major upgrade to its margin system. The new portfolio margin feature is designed to make trading more capital efficient while reducing risk during extreme volatility.

Nansen analyst Nicolai Søndergaard said that dynamic scaling reduces systemic risk, making the platform safer for aggressive positioning on volatile assets.

The Levels That Change Everything for Hyperliquid (HYPE)

HYPE is still holding strong momentum. The token is up about 5% in the last 24 hours and roughly 120% over the past year. Even while much of the crypto market struggles, the chart continues printing higher lows, keeping the broader uptrend intact.
Right now, the level everyone is watching is $35.28. That recent intraday high is the key resistance. If HYPE manages to close above it on lower timeframes, the chart opens the door toward $38 and potentially the $40 psychological level.
On the downside, $32.50 is the main support. That area has acted as a launchpad during previous pullbacks. If it breaks, the next liquidity zone sits closer to $30. A deeper drop below $28.50 would be needed to truly damage the bullish structure.

Part of the strength comes from growing activity on the platform itself. Open interest has climbed to around $1.2 billion as traders increasingly use Hyperliquid to trade not just crypto, but also assets like oil during major global events.

The order directed the Treasury to set up an office to control the reserve, capitalize it with forfeited bitcoin already held by the government, and keep BTC in the reserve from being sold. It also authorized Treasury and Commerce to develop “budget neutral” strategies for acquiring additional bitcoin without imposing incremental costs on taxpayers.

Bipartisan Support Builds For US Bitcoin Reserve
The order also came with concrete deadlines. Agencies had 30 days, until April 5, 2025, to review whether they could transfer government-held BTC into the reserve and to provide a full accounting of digital assets in their possession. Treasury then had 60 days, until May 5, 2025, to deliver a legal and investment evaluation on how the reserve should be established and managed, including whether further legislation would be needed.

The most substantive official update arrived on July 30, 2025, when the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets said the Treasury had already delivered those considerations to the White House under Section 3(e) of the order and would keep coordinating on “appropriate next steps” to operationalize the reserve. The White House was still publicly describing the reserve as an established policy as recently as January 20, 2026.

A Shrinking Pool Of Big Bets
According to data from research firm Messari, total crypto fundraising climbed almost 50% in the 12 months ending March 2026 compared to the year before.

But the number of individual deals fell 46% over the same period. Fewer rounds. Bigger checks. The average deal size hit $34 million — a 272% jump from a year earlier. The number of active investors dropped by about a third, down to 3,225.

Those three February standouts were Tether’s $200 million investment into online marketplace Whop, a $75 million Series B for sports prediction platform Novig led by Pantera Capital, and a $70 million Series B for ARQ, a Latin American fintech app built around stablecoins, backed by Sequoia Capital. Together, they accounted for 44% of the close to $800 million raised across the entire month.

The letter indicated that the government was ready to retry the case as early as between March and May. However, Storm’s defense attorneys indicated to the prosecutors that they could only participate in the process as late as 2026.

During the earlier trial, the jurors found Storm guilty of conspiring to run an unlicensed money transmitting business in association with the crypto mixer known as Tornado Cash. However, the jury did not arrive at a unanimous decision regarding the money laundering charge and sanctions conspiracy charge, which means that these charges are eligible for retrial. Storm continues to stand by his plea of not guilty and had previously moved to dismiss the money transmitting charge.
