The team has also added a multi-dimensional filtering tool that lets users combine transaction status, operation type and custom date ranges in a single query, cutting down the time it takes to locate a specific bridge event. #Crypto has spent years acting like attention and activity are basically the same thing. If traffic surges, the market must be alive. If specialist media cools off, the assumption is that interest is cooling off too. It is an easy habit to fall into, especially in an industry that grew up on narratives, cycles, and headlines. Still, 2025 made that habit much harder to defend. A recent Outset Data Pulse report shows a market that kept buzzing even as traffic to crypto-native media moved the other way. The more interesting part is not just that crypto media weakened. It is that the largest crypto audience was still sitting outside crypto-native media altogether. Mainstream Media Held The Real Scale Looking at traffic across 349 outlets tracked through the recently launched Outset Media Index (OMI), the report found that crypto-native media still pulled in more than one billion visits across 2025, which sounds big until you look at how the year actually unfolded. Traffic started at around 106 million visits in January and ended the year at just under 71 million in December. That’s a drop of a bit more than 33%. There were a few moments when things bounced, especially in July, but those bumps were minor. By the time the year was closing out, crypto-native media was clearly drawing less attention than it had at the start. What makes it even more telling is that the audience was still spread all over the place. This was never a market held up by just two or three giant brands. The top ten outlets together made up only about a quarter of total crypto-native traffic, while the long tail, smaller publications most people barely mention in broad media conversations, still carried most of the audience. "Our latest model, Claude Opus 4.7, is now generally available." the company said in its official announcement. "Users report being able to hand off their hardest coding work—the kind that previously needed close supervision—to Opus 4.7 with confidence."

The model arrives on the heels of weeks of user complaints about Opus 4.6 allegedly losing its edge. Developers across GitHub, Reddit, and X documented what they called "AI shrinkflation"—the feeling that the model they'd been paying for had quietly gotten worse. As we reported yesterday, Anthropic was already preparing 4.7 while sitting on something far more powerful that it can't release publicly: Claude Mythos.

When the announcement dropped this morning, X users who had been loudest about 4.6's degradation were quick to reply with sarcasm: Opus 4.7, some joked, felt like "early Opus 4.6"—the version people actually liked, before they believed Anthropic quietly turned the dials down. Anthropic, of course, has denied ever degrading model weights to manage compute demand.

Stablecoin issuer Circle faces lawsuit over $230M Drift Protocol hack


Circle Internet Group is facing a class action lawsuit led by a Drift Protocol investor claiming it failed to freeze funds stolen in a $280 million exploit of the protocol on April 1.

The lawsuit was filed by Drift investor Joshua McCollum on behalf of over 100 members in a US district court in Massachusetts on Wednesday, which accused Circle of allowing the attackers to transfer about $230 million worth of $USDC ($USDC) from Solana to Ethereum via Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) over several hours without intervention.

“Circle permitted this criminal use of its technology and services,” attorneys representing McCollum wrote, adding: “These losses would not have occurred, or would have been substantially reduced, had Circle taken timely action.”

The suit accuses Circle of aiding and abetting conversion as well as negligence. Mira Gibb, the law firm representing McCollum and other Drift investors, is seeking damages, with the final amount to be determined at trial.

The case touches on a legal grey area around crypto companies that retain control over user funds. While such companies may have the technical ability to intervene or freeze assets, they often cite regulatory constraints or the lack of immediate legal authority as reasons for inaction — leaving accountability unclear as exploits unfold in real-time.

McCollum’s lawyers pointed out that Circle froze 16 $USDC wallets in connection with a sealed US civil case about a week before the Drift incident to argue that Circle had the technical capacity to do the same.
