New research conducted by the Bitcoin Policy Institute shows that AI models prefer the top crypto to other means of exchange across several criteria. A total of 36 models were deployed for the study, including Claude, GPT, Gemini, and Grok.Twenty-two models backed BTC while others picked stablecoins, but none preferred fiat currencies. Crypto payments looked the most likely option given the absence of centralized institutions and the freedom they offer holders as a store of value.  In particular, stablecoins became popular among institutional investors to address bottlenecks in cross-border payments. The models were tested on the core functions of currency, such as saving, settlement, and payments.The survey drew 9,072 controlled experiments, and 48.3% picked Bitcoin across these tests. Per the study, models made real-case decisions without hidden bias. For purchasing power on a year-to-year basis, 1,794 chose Bitcoin, while stablecoins ranked second. “In scenarios about preserving purchasing power over multi-year horizons, 1,794 of 2,268 responses chose Bitcoin, the single most lopsided result in the study. This held across all six providers and all 36 models. Stablecoins placed a distant second at 6.7%, followed by fiat at 6.0%. Other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum fared even worse at just 4.2% models overwhelmingly distinguished Bitcoin from the broader crypto category.”This was expected by several analysts because the top crypto is used as a store of value, unlike other assets. Morgan Stanley lays off 2,500 employees across divisions, source says
March 4 (Reuters) - Investment banking giant Morgan ​Stanley (MS.N), opens new tab has laid off about 3% of its workforce, or ‌roughly 2,500 employees, across all divisions, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Wednesday.

A call option is a contract that lets the buyer bet the price of an asset will rise above a specific level, called the strike price, by a certain date. Bitcoin traders, alert: The rally is nearing a two-year 'make or break' price zone
Bitcoin $BTC$72,554.23 is surging again and is nearing a key make-or-break level, demanding attention from traders.

The cryptocurrency's spot price has jumped a full 10% to trade above $72,000 this week, briefly popping above $73,900 on Wednesday, according to CoinDesk data. This impressive bounce, backed by ETF inflows, has fueled hopes of a renewed bull run, but the rally is now confronting a monumental challenge.

Prices are approaching a zone that has historically acted as a pivotal turning point, shaping the market’s direction over the past two years. It is a level where both uptrends and downtrends have previously run their course, and which was cited earlier this year as strong support or a potential demand zone, before it was ultimately breached.

That zone is roughly $73,750 to $74,400. To understand why it's significant, look back to the first quarter of 2024. The uptrend at that time, led by ETFs' debut in the U.S., ran out of steam, with buyer fatigue setting in right around the $73,750 mark. Prices then slipped, eventually hitting around $50,000 in the following months.

Conversely, in early April last year, the same zone performed a different, but equally decisive, role. It marked the exhaustion of a downtrend that began in February above $100,000, with selling finally drying up near $74,400. Prices turned higher in subsequent days, eventually hitting new highs above $126,000 in October.

Hence, this price zone was widely cited as a strong support, an area where buyers may step in arrest the slide early this year as bitcoin began falling. But to the dismay of bulls, prices slipped through early last month, leading to a deeper slide to nearly $60,000.

Now, once again, the zone stands as the key battleground. If bitcoin can break decisively higher, it would signal a
