Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Ripple ($XRP) are all trading in the red as the broader crypto market feels the pressure of the US-Iran conflict.

Bitcoin’s price has slipped below $71,000, while Ether and $XRP are trading below $2,200 and $1.35, respectively.

Solana’s $SOL is also underperforming and could face further selling pressure in the near term. The coin is trading at $81 on Monday, after a 4% decline on Sunday, which aligned with the broader cryptocurrency market correction.

At the moment, Solana remains on a downside trajectory after reversing from an overhead trendline, while institutional demand whipsaws and retail interest declines. Momentum indicators also suggest that sellers are in control, with a possible correction to the $77 support level on the cards.

ETF outflows add selling pressure to Solana

Solana has been underperforming since Tuesday after failing to overcome the $88 swing high level. It lost 4% of its value on Sunday and has continued its poor performance into Monday.

Similar to other leading cryptocurrencies, $SOL is facing mixed-to-slightly bearish reactions in the institutional and derivatives markets amid the US-Iran blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Data obtained from CoinGlass revealed that the Solana Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) recorded [MONEY value="11450000" currency="usd" notation="long" replace="false"] in inflows on Friday, limiting the weekly outflow to [MONEY value="5620000" currency="usd" notation="long" replace="false"]. Friday’s inflow suggests that institutions remain interested in Solana but also marks the third consecutive weekly outflow.

Beyond macro factors, trader behavior is also reinforcing resistance levels.
Analysts point out a repeated pattern:
Long positions decrease when price approaches resistance
Short positions increase at the same levels
Profit-taking intensifies on each rally
This creates a self-reinforcing ceiling, with Bitcoin repeatedly failing to break above the ~$74K–$75K zone.
Is momentum returning?
There are early signs of stabilization.
On-chain analyst Willy Woo recently noted that:
Capital flows into BTC have turned positive for the first time since January
Liquidity conditions are slowly improving
Derivatives markets are attempting to recover after major stress events
This suggests the market may be transitioning from contraction to stabilization—but not yet expansion.
Key level to watch: $80K
Despite current weakness, $80,000 is emerging as a critical threshold. A clean breakout above it would likely signal a return of stronger trend conditions.
Until then, Bitcoin appears to be in a phase of:

Bottom line
