Crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen is cautioning that Bitcoin could still be at risk of setting a new cycle low later this year, pointing to historical patterns from previous bear markets.In a recent YouTube update, Cowen examines the time gaps between major lows in past cycles, suggesting the current market may not yet be out of danger.“In 2014, Bitcoin set a low in April and the next low wasn’t until October,” Cowen says, noting that the gap between those lows was about 174 days.He adds that in 2018, the market saw similar behavior, with roughly 143 days between key lows, followed by another stretch of around 147 days before a decisive bottom formed.Cowen emphasizes that even the act of breaking prior lows often takes months.“In terms of how long did it take to just take out the low, it took about half a year,” he explains, referencing prior cycles.Looking at more recent data, he points out that in 2022 it took roughly “140 something days” to break the June low. By comparison, the current cycle may still be early in that timeline.“How long has it taken since the February low? We’re currently on day 88.”Based on that historical framework, Cowen warns that further downside remains a realistic possibility.“Who’s to know what’ll happen in 3 months? Who’s to know? I mean, there’s certainly a chance that Bitcoin will find a new low later this year, just like it did in prior bear markets.” He also cautions investors not to misinterpret extended rallies as confirmation of a new bull cycle.“You can have rallies that last for months that draw people back in, that make them FOMO back in, but that doesn’t mean necessarily that it’s any different from other bear markets that we’ve seen.”Generated Image: DALLE3

A crypto analyst has identified a multi-year Cup and Handle pattern on the Bitcoin ($BTC) chart that he says has gone largely unnoticed by the broader market, despite its significance. The analyst believes this single formation signals a major bull trend ahead for Bitcoin, projecting a minimum price target of $220,000 once the cryptocurrency begins its parabolic move.Market analyst Crypto Tice has announced that Bitcoin has completed a Cup and Handle pattern that had been forming for years. In an X post, the expert clearly outlined the formation on a chart, displaying a rounded U-shaped curve that marks the Cup portion of the pattern. This is followed by a handle positioned just above it, defined by upper and lower trendlines that sit parallel to each other.

The emergence of a Cup and Handle pattern is often seen as a bullish indicator, as it signals that a cryptocurrency may be getting ready to break above resistance and extend its uptrend. Notably, Crypto Tice revealed that Bitcoin has already broken above a resistance zone of its Cup and Handle pattern, reinforcing his bullish stance.

The analyst identified this key resistance between $62,000 and $74,000, noting that Bitcoin has also cleanly retested this area after its recent surge above $80,000. According to Crypto Tice, this successful retest has confirmed the overall structure, setting the stage for a potential continuation to the upside.

Given the strength of these formations, Crypto Tice made clear that Cup and Handle patterns do not signal modest moves like a 20% rally. Rather, they have historically preceded gains in the hundreds of percent, suggesting that a massive price surge could be on the horizon for Bitcoin.

Benchmark Equity Research reiterated its "buy" rating and $27 price target on Bitdeer Technologies, citing the stock's re-rating potential as a bitcoin miner transitioning into AI/HPC infrastructure.
Bitdeer shares (BTDR) surged nearly 21% Wednesday following Hut 8's (HUT) announcement of a massive 352 MW AI data center deal at Beacon Point, highlighting investor enthusiasm for hybrid bitcoin mining/AI firms, the analysts led by Mark Palmer said in a note on Thursday.

With that in mind, BTDR trades at a "comparatively inexpensive" 4.5x forward EV/revenue despite possessing similar power access, vertical integration, and proprietary chip development capabilities.

Bitdeer’s AI cloud ARR hit $43 million as of end-March, a 105% jump month-over-month, and management expressed strong demand from AI agents and enterprise workloads, Benchmark said.

"In the burgeoning subsector of hybrid bitcoin mining/AI-HPC stocks, in which many of the most visible names have already 'mooned' on AI enthusiasm, BTDR remains comparatively inexpensive despite possessing some of the same foundational elements that investors are now aggressively rewarding elsewhere: large-scale power access, vertically integrated infrastructure, and increasingly sophisticated proprietary chip development capabilities," Benchmark wrote.

Notably, BTDR continues to advance its proprietary SEALMINER A4 mining chip roadmap, with a 69.5 EH/s self-mining hashrate in March.

"The company’s vertical integration strategy reduces its dependence on third-party ASIC suppliers while allowing it to internalize hardware economics historically captured elsewhere in the mining ecosystem," Benchmark noted.
