Bitcoin ($BTC) and altcoins have experienced significant gains in recent days. The price of $BTC rose above $76,000, while Ethereum ($ETH), the largest altcoin, tested levels above $2,400.

While $ETH has attracted attention with its 17% increase since March 29th, the on-chain analytics platform Santiment reveals an interesting dynamic in the Ethereum market with its latest data.

At this point, Santiment notes that there has been recent selling pressure on $ETH, but these sell-offs are a bullish signal.

Santiment’s latest analysis indicates that investors holding less than 0.01 $ETH have sold a total of 1,791 $ETH, worth $4.16 million, over the past two days.

According to Santiment, these investors perceive the nearly 17% rise in $ETH since March 29 as a bull trap.

At this point, Santiment added that retail investors aggressively selling $ETH and viewing it as a bull trap is actually a bullish signal for Ethereum.

“The community views this 17% increase since March 29th as a bull trap, which strengthens the possibility of this bullish momentum continuing.”

Ironically, these sales increase the potential for the upward momentum to continue.”

Despite the broader recovery, a crypto expert posted on X that it is the end of an era for FARTCOIN alongside a bearish four-hour chart.

However, price action continued to tell a different story.

On the daily chart, FARTCOIN approached the $0.225 resistance level, which has held firm since February 2026.

Historically, price has tested this level multiple times and faced strong selling pressure, leading to declines. If momentum continues and price breaks above $0.225, FARTCOIN could rally another 37% toward $0.312. However, failure to break this level could trigger another rejection, repeating past behavior.

That setup kept attention fixed on whether resistance would finally give way.

At press time, Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) stood at -0.06, while Money Flow Index (MFI) reached 57.06. These readings pointed to slight capital outflows, while buying pressure remained moderate.

In fact, the structure appeared balanced rather than showing a clear distribution. This suggested that momentum remained intact, though not strong enough to confirm a breakout yet.

$XRP is gearing up for a price breakout as the broader crypto market turns bullish and whales accumulate the coin in large numbers.

$XRP moved one place lower in the crypto market ranking, with BNB overtaking it to become the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap excluding stablecoins. This comes as $XRP continues to consolidate, trailing the momentum seen among large-cap coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

At the time of writing, $XRP trades at $1.35, down a little over 1% in the past 24 hours. The coin has also remained almost unchanged in the past seven days, down just 1.9%, further confirming how stagnant its price has been lately.

Despite this consolidatory trend, the positive is that the $XRP price has held support. While it has not yet broken out, the altcoin has maintained the $1.30-$1.33 support zone, keeping hopes of a breakout alive.

Notably, $XRP has consolidated around the mid $1.30s for over two weeks now, building momentum for a breakout. For context, the longer a consolidation, the stronger the breakout. Now, with the broader market recovery and sentiments improving, it is only a matter of time before $XRP breaks out.

The crucial point to watch is the 50-day moving average. $XRP has faced rejection on the last two attempts to break above this dynamic resistance, peaking at around $1.395 on April 7 and 14.

Multiple retests weaken selling pressure, and if $XRP keeps hitting this supply wall, a breakout could be imminent. Currently at $1.38, breaking above the 50-day MA with strong volume sets the pace for a rally to the next resistance stronghold around $1.46.

However, further market participation could help this course. Futures trading volume is down 2.67% in the past 24 hours, and $XRP spot activities have dropped 7.

Bitcoin breakout odds rise as negative funding streak mirrors past bottoming regimes, K33 says

Persistent negative funding alongside growing open interest and rising bitcoin prices is increasing the likelihood of a short squeeze, according to K33.

The bitcoin 30-day average funding rate has been negative for 46 consecutive days, matching the duration of the 2022 bear market bottom, Head of Research Vetle Lunde noted.

While defensive positioning has become a recurring theme in the bitcoin ￼BTC-0.17%￼

 market, continued negative funding paired with growing open interest and rising prices point to elevated aggression from bears, according to research and brokerage firm K33, increasing the likelihood of a short squeeze ahead.

The 30-day average bitcoin derivatives funding rate has now been negative for 46 consecutive days, K33 Head of Research Vetle Lunde noted in a new report, matching the duration of the negative funding regime seen around the late 2022 bear market bottom.

"With recent funding rate compression and the unusually persistent negative regime, we see increasing odds of higher highs and a breakout from BTC's 68-day consolidation," Lunde said.

Periods where notional open interest trends higher, bitcoin prices rise, and daily, seven-day, and 30-day average funding rates remain negative have persistently appeared near consolidation bottoms, Lunde noted.

"Current crypto-native positioning aligns with such conditions, which is why we have emphasized funding rate regimes in our reports over the past month and why we maintain our bullish BTC outlook," he said.

Only March to May 2020 (63 days) and June to August 2021 (49 days) have presented longer continuous durations of negative 30-day funding rates, according to K33's analysis.
