Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin laid out 3 fundamental roles for Ethereum going forward. First, a global bulletin board where data can be written permanently and visibly, with nobody able to delete it.

The PeerDAS upgrade makes this cheap to do at scale for the first time, shifting the blockchain from a computation machine to a data availability layer.
Second, a spam filter for permissionless systems. In a world where anyone can interact with any protocol, every action needs a small real cost attached to it. ETH serves as that universal friction layer, making Sybil attacks and spam economically unviable.

Third, smart contracts as a coordination standard. Not because everything needs to run on-chain, but because ETH smart contracts allow different programs to communicate and manage digital assets inside a shared environment. Zero-knowledge proofs handle the computation.

The chain handles the truth. Buterin wrapped the whole vision in a single line, calling Ethereum the world’s shared memory.
Ethereum Price Prediction:

ETH is sitting at $2,063 on the 2h chart, trading inside a rising wedge that has been forming since the February lows.

The structure tells an interesting story: while Vitalik is publicly redefining what Ethereum actually is at a fundamental level, the chart looks like a coin the market has been sleeping on, and may be waking up to.

Trading volume on the debut came in at roughly $15.5 million, based on Nasdaq data showing just under 593,000 shares changed hands.

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart called it “very, very solid” for a first-day product launch. That said, ETHB fell short of two comparable Solana staking funds that hit the market in the past year — the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF pulled in $55.4 million when it debuted in October, while the REX-Osprey SOL + Staking ETF recorded $33.7 million on its first day of trading.

BlackRock entered Thursday’s session with $106.7 million already in the fund. Coinbase holds custody of the assets. The structure is split roughly 80% staked Ether and 20% unstaked Ether, according to the firm’s product page. Staking rewards will be paid out once a month.

The fund targets an annualized yield of around 4%, generated by locking up ETH tokens on the Ethereum blockchain through validators. Those validators — Figment, Galaxy Digital, and Bitwise-owned Attestant — process transactions on the network and earn rewards in return, which are then passed to fund shareholders.

Major developers on Flare, such as Quantic, note that millions of dollars are flowing daily from the $XRP Ledger into Flare, raising the main question for builders: how to use this flow effectively.

Philion’s forecast that $1 billion will soon be locked in $XRP can be supported by several arguments. For example, the fact that FXRP is currently the only possible option for spot trading $XRP on the Hyperliquid platform — the main decentralized environment in the crypto industry.

In addition, FXRP staking integration with the Xaman wallet has been implemented. This allows $XRP Ledger users to directly route their assets into Flare for staking and receiving yield in $XRP inside the wallet. Major companies, such as VivoPower and Everything Blockchain, have already begun using Flare infrastructure to generate yield on their $XRP reserves.

To some extent, Bok’s arguments are plausible though. So far, most countries with record USD-based stablecoin adoption either have volatile local currencies or face significant currency devaluation. Nigeria and Iran are clear examples. 

Even so, some countries with developed banking and digital infrastructures have also seen strong adoption of the products. Especially for cross-border transfers. 

In particular, Asia leads global stablecoin activity, accounting for 60% of the $30 trillion annual volume, primarily through the China/Hong Kong/Singapore corridor. 

For DWF Ventures, South Korea’s 18 million crypto holders and tech-savvy population would lead to natural adoption of the KRW stablecoin. 

The firm added that USDT premium, and the so-called ‘Kimchi Premium,’ in which crypto assets trade relatively higher across South Korean exchanges, is another reason to hold the KRW stablecoin. 

This (Kimchi Premium) reflects a need for a KRW stablecoin that could potentially provide deeper liquidity on KRW pairs, while countering the dominance of USD stablecoins to stem capital outflows.


The FSC is expected to finalize and publish the corporate crypto rules soon. It remains to be seen whether KRW stablecoins will reduce the usage of USDT and USDC in the country.
