Crypto projects with more than $3 billion in total value locked have migrated their cross-chain infrastructure to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) following a $292 million exploit at KelpDAO, which heightened scrutiny of bridge security across decentralized finance.

Chainlink confirmed the migration wave, saying four protocols, including KelpDAO, Solv Protocol, Re, and Tydro, had begun decommissioning legacy oracles and bridge systems in favor of CCIP.

The shift has also fed into LINK’s market performance. CryptoSlate data shows the token rose 15% to $10.52, its highest level since January, as traders responded to the acceleration in CCIP adoption.

Two major US exchange powerhouses are moving against a top decentralized trading venue. According to Bloomberg, CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the New York Stock Exchange, are urging US authorities to regulate Hyperliquid amid concerns that its largely offshore, lightly regulated trading environment could be vulnerable to market manipulation and sanctions evasion.

Hyperliquid’s native HYPE token slipped approximately 6% in reaction to the development, moving from above $45 to below $43, per CoinGecko. It has a market cap of around $10.3 billion, making it the 13th-largest crypto asset globally.

The exchanges argue that Hyperliquid’s growing trading volumes in crypto and commodity-linked markets could begin to distort price discovery in critical sectors like oil, where global benchmarks are formed. They warn that anonymous trading environments may allow insiders or state-linked participants to influence prices.

The push, which includes calls for registration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, comes as CME advances plans to expand its own 24/7 crypto trading offerings.

CME has been steadily expanding its own crypto derivatives offerings. Bitcoin Volatility Futures contracts are scheduled to begin trading June 1, and Nasdaq CME Crypto Index Futures, a multi-asset product spanning BTC, ETH, XRP, and others, launch a week later on June 8.

Both products are designed to give institutional traders regulated alternatives to the kind of leveraged trading that Hyperliquid offers with less friction and less compliance overhead.

Bitcoin keeps rallying mid-month – Is Saylor using Strategy’s STRC funding loop to pump BTC?

STRC is helping Michael Saylor’s firm keep buying Bitcoin, but the preferred-stock loop is adding dividend costs that could weigh on shareholders.

Bitcoin has been seeing recurring mid-month strength this year, and it is becoming harder to separate it from Strategy’s (formerly MicroStrategy) expanding preferred-stock machine. The funding channel is helping the company continue to buy the flagship digital asset while adding a growing layer of cost to its balance sheet.

Research firm K33 has tied the pattern to Strategy’s perpetual preferred stock, STRC, which has become a key source of liquidity for the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder. The instrument pays dividends at month-end, but investors must own the shares by the 15th to qualify for the payout.

That deadline has turned the middle of each month into a predictable window of demand. Investors buy STRC ahead of the cutoff, driving up its trading volume, and the stock moves back toward its $100 par value.
Once STRC trades at or above par, Strategy can issue new shares through its at-the-market program and use the proceeds to buy more Bitcoin.

Data from STRC.live shows that this loop has become active this week, with STRC returning to par and giving Strategy enough room to fund the purchase of more than 5,000 Bitcoin before Friday’s next ex-dividend deadline.

The move extends a pattern that has made Strategy’s capital markets activity a recurring feature of Bitcoin’s spot-market flow. It also reinforces why STRC has become the most dominant preferred equity in the market.

The staking line — which had been climbing sharply and consistently since the beginning of the year — has begun to plateau and show a slight decline in the most recent data. The direction has changed even if the level remains historically elevated.

That shift carries a specific behavioral interpretation. When staking volumes that have been rising begin to flatten and decline, it typically reflects participants withdrawing assets from validators — a decision that requires deliberate action and a waiting period, meaning it reflects considered judgment rather than reactive selling.

The most common motivations are liquidity needs and portfolio restructuring — holders who committed ETH to staking earlier in the year and are now choosing to reclaim that liquidity for reasons the on-chain data cannot specify but the price environment helps explain.


The compression the analysis identifies is visible in the combination of the two readings. Staking at record highs reflects the structural conviction built over months. Price still consolidating around $2,250 — significantly below previous peaks — reflects the market’s failure to price in that conviction. The gap between record network commitment and depressed price is the compression that defines the current phase.

The staking plateau adds the volatility warning that the record alone would not generate. When supply dynamics shift at historically extreme levels — even slightly — the market tends to respond with amplified price movement in whichever direction the next catalyst pushes.
