Global geopolitical tensions have escalated over the past few years. As Europe rearms, Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrency mining infrastructure in Europe and Eurasia faces a clear and present threat: World War III.

Germany is estimated to account for 5% of the Bitcoin hashrate. Norway accounts for 2%. Russia accounts for 11% of the Bitcoin hashrate. This hashrate could be at risk in the event of a full-scale war. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency infrastructure in these regions could suffer targeted or collateral damage. However, a larger war in Europe could directly or indirectly reduce mining volumes in the region.
