Ripple Prime CEO Mike Higgins says cryptocurrencies like $XRP, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana could soon play a much larger role in institutional finance through cross-margining and collateral systems.

Speaking about the future of tokenized finance, Higgins explained that institutions may eventually use digital assets, stablecoins, and tokenized money market funds as collateral for settlement and margin requirements, rather than relying solely on dollars or U.S. Treasuries.

Circle said the nanopayments infrastructure supports gas-free $USDC ($USDC) transfers as small as $0.000001 and is designed for high-frequency autonomous payment flows between software systems.
The company said the tools are built to allow AI agents to transact autonomously within predefined permissions, spending controls and policy guardrails across supported blockchains and payment networks.

Cleanspark reported a $378.3 million net loss for its second fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2026, as a $224.1 million non-cash loss on bitcoin fair value weighed heavily on results even as the company expanded its hashrate and power capacity.
Cleanspark’s (Nasdaq: CLSK) Revenue for the quarter came in at $136.4 million, down $45.3 million, or 24.9%, from $181.7 million in the same period a year earlier. The decline reflected bitcoin price dynamics and rising network difficulty despite operational growth across the company’s U.S. mining portfolio.

The net loss was $1.52 per basic share compared to a loss of $0.49 per share in the prior year quarter. Cost of revenues totaled $81.7 million, while depreciation and amortization reached $115.9 million, a figure that climbed with the firm’s ongoing fleet expansion.

Bernie Moreno claims American Bankers Association is lobbying against crypto stablecoin bill

Senator Bernie Moreno is picking a very public fight with the American banking lobby. The Ohio Republican says the American Bankers Association sent a letter to bank CEOs on May 10, urging them to mobilize against the CLARITY Act, a bipartisan stablecoin bill headed for a Senate Banking Committee vote on May 14.

Moreno, who sits on that committee, laid out his case in a detailed post on May 11. His core argument: the ABA is not worried about economic stability. It’s worried about competition.

What the CLARITY Act actually does

The CLARITY Act is designed to create a regulatory framework for stablecoins, the dollar-pegged digital tokens that have become the backbone of crypto trading. Crucially, the bill would allow stablecoins to offer competitive yields to holders, something traditional bank deposits do conspicuously poorly at.

According to Moreno, the ABA’s CEO characterized the bill’s yield provisions as a “stablecoin loophole” that threatens economic stability. Moreno argued that banks are defending an existing monopoly over consumer deposits, one where they profit handsomely while offering minimal returns to the people whose money they’re using.

The previous attempt at stablecoin legislation, the GENIUS Act, did not adequately address the yield question. The CLARITY Act appears to be a more ambitious sequel, one that directly confronts the issue the banking industry would prefer to leave alone.
