In the latest developments across cryptocurrency markets, Bitcoin once again attempted to break past the critical $75,000 threshold but lost momentum, stalling before it could make a decisive move upward. Market analysts have described the current environment as a “meek rally,” noting that Bitcoin’s upward trend, which began following February’s lows, is starting to lose its strength. The resistance between $75,000 and $80,000 continues to serve as a heavy barrier, limiting further gains for the world’s largest cryptocurrency.

Record highs fuel optimism in U.S. stock markets

American stock markets are forging ahead with strong gains, even against the backdrop of ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The Nasdaq index surged by 1.6% and closed higher for an 11th consecutive trading session—its longest winning streak on record—breaking the 24,000-point mark for the first time in its history. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose 0.8% to a new all-time high above 7,000 points. These milestones signal robust risk appetite among investors and reinforce the ongoing rally mood in traditional financial markets.

The positive momentum on Wall Street has extended to crypto-linked stocks as well. Shares of Coinbase, one of the largest U.S.-based crypto platforms, jumped by 6.2%. Trading app Robinhood, popular with retail investors, recorded gains of over 10%. Strategy, known for its Bitcoin asset management, also saw its share price climb by 4.4%.

Bitcoin volatility persists at crucial levels

On Wednesday morning, Bitcoin again tried to climb above the $75,000 mark. However, buying interest declined at this level, and the price encountered strong resistance once more.

“As of yesterday, we were turned back at the upper boundary of the two-month sideways range. Yesterday’s optimism is now being questioned,” explained Wintermute market maker Jasper de Maere.

Circle CEO says China could launch yuan stablecoin within 3 to 5 years as currency race heats up

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire told Reuters in Hong Kong that there is a "tremendous opportunity" for a yuan-backed stablecoin, predicting China could roll one out within three to five years as digital currencies become more integrated into global trade and finance.

The framing marks a shift from speculative idea to something closer to policy alignment. Reuters reported in August 2025 that Chinese officials were exploring a yuan-backed stablecoin to boost international adoption, a notable turn for a country that has banned crypto trading and mining since 2021.

Allaire has been making this case since at least 2023, when he argued stablecoins could outperform central bank digital currencies as a vehicle for RMB internationalization. At the time, Beijing’s stance looked firmly opposed. Authorities arrested individuals linked to CNHC, an offshore yuan stablecoin, and later that year reiterated restrictions on virtual currencies.

In the years since, stablecoins are now being treated less as speculative crypto products and more as financial infrastructure for cross-border settlement.

However, for China to launch a yuan stablecoin, Beijing would need to make the RMB fully convertible. It means that foreigners and markets would need to be able to freely exchange yuan in and out without tight government restrictions on capital flows or limits on how much money flows into and out of the country.

Without such full convertibility, a yuan stablecoin would be impossible, according to experts.

Jiang, who carries the informal online title “Professor” despite holding no university post, frames his case using what he calls game theory. Bitcoin.com News has featured Jiang on several occasions, as some of his predictions, like Trump winning the election and the U.S. going to war with Iran, have come true.

His Bitcoin argument, explained in an interview setting with Neel, follows three questions: who had the technical capacity to build Bitcoin, who benefits from its transparent ledger, and why would anyone build such a system and give it away for free. The super PAC said Wednesday that it plans to pour $8 million alongside its sister advocacy organization Right Vote to back Husted's campaign.

Sentinel has received backing from the Solana Institute and Multicoin Capital, a crypto-focused venture capital firm. The Solana Institute has donated $750,000 to the super PAC so far, while Multicoin has contributed $250,000, according to Federal Election Commission records.
