Expert Explains Why the Pi Network Surpassed Its Initial Limits

Pi expert Dr. Altcoin recently explained why, despite his previous doubts, he remains convinced that the Pi Network is not a scam. In a blog post, he explained that the team's decision to postpone the launch of the open mainnet until after December 2024 nearly prompted him to criticize the project.

He decided to wait after surveying nearly 5,900 community members, as 52% of them supported the legitimacy of the Pi Network. This confidence was further bolstered when the Pi Network was listed on a major exchange in February 2025.

While the project's communications have sometimes been slow, Dr. Altcoin noted that its rapid growth, from a few million early adopters to over 65 million across over 200 regions, has driven infrastructure development beyond its initial plans. "It's still massive and continues to grow," he noted.

The cryptocurrency expert also emphasized that pioneers should celebrate the network's growth.

Pi Network Continues to Grow Despite Community Pressure

The Pi Network team continues development as it migrates to the mainnet. The platform reminds users to complete step three of the mainnet checklist: enabling two-factor authentication in the Pi Wallet. This security requirement is crucial for migrating tokens from the testnet to the mainnet, and many believe it signals impending major changes to the ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the Pi coin price remained stable, fluctuating between $0.43 and $0.45. However, professional trader BOSSMD recently noted that Pi coin broke through a descending trendline, testing resistance at $0.465 before consolidating between $0.445 and $0.450. "Sustained support above this support level could trigger a retest of $0.465," he noted.
