Accordingly, UBS Group, one of the world’s largest asset management companies managing $7 trillion in assets, has disclosed its $XRP ETF holdings.

Swiss-based financial giant UBS announced its investment in $XRP in a 13F filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

This stands out as one of the most significant institutional investments in $XRP.

Instead of holding $XRP directly, the bank invested in the Volatility Shares $XRP ETF and the Grayscale $XRP Trust.

According to the announcement, UBS holds 197,369 shares in the Volatility Shares $XRP ETF and 317 shares in the Grayscale $XRP Trust.

For investors, UBS’s announcement of its $XRP investment can be seen as a signal of increasing institutional confidence in $XRP as an asset class. Furthermore, the preference of institutions for ETFs and mutual funds over direct investment underscores the importance of regulatory compliance for large institutions.

Furthermore, according to experts, the inclusion of $XRP products in the portfolio of a large bank like UBS invalidates the notion that $XRP is solely a retail-focused asset. This is seen as a significant endorsement from institutional investors.

Cryptocurrencies took a major hit in the pattern change. Nonetheless, the cryptocurrency market has made a slight rebound over the last few months. BTC's price fell to the $62,000 mark in February of this year. BTC is currently facing resistance at around $80,000-$81,000. Despite the strong operational performance, the company’s GAAP results painted a sharply different picture.

Block’s Bitcoin holdings resulted in a $173 million fair value loss in Q1 2026, nearly double the $93 million remeasurement loss recorded on the same position a year earlier, as the company’s mark-to-market accounting obligations translated Bitcoin price movements directly into reported earnings.

That loss, combined with $852 million in restructuring and other charges tied to the February workforce reduction that cut headcount from more than 10,000 employees to just under 6,000, pushed Block to a $172 million operating loss and a $309 million net loss for the quarter under standard accounting rules.

At the time of writing, Block Inc. held roughly 9,032 Bitcoin valued at approximately $724.4 million, compared to its 8,692 BTC holdings worth $1.08 billion as of the 6th of October, 2025.

The development follows an announcement by Square expanding its services to allow small businesses in the U.S. to accept Bitcoin payments for goods and services.

The losses were not limited to Block Inc. alone. Coinbase also reported weaker quarterly results, with the leading U.S.-based crypto exchange posting revenue of $1.41 billion, down 30.5% year over year, while continuing cost-cutting measures after reducing its workforce earlier this year.

Benchmark Equity Research reiterated its "buy" rating and $27 price target on Bitdeer Technologies, citing the stock's re-rating potential as a bitcoin miner transitioning into AI/HPC infrastructure.

Bitdeer shares (BTDR) surged nearly 21% Wednesday following Hut 8's (HUT) announcement of a massive 352 MW AI data center deal at Beacon Point, highlighting investor enthusiasm for hybrid bitcoin mining/AI firms, the analysts led by Mark Palmer said in a note on Thursday.

With that in mind, BTDR trades at a "comparatively inexpensive" 4.5x forward EV/revenue despite possessing similar power access, vertical integration, and proprietary chip development capabilities.

Bitdeer’s AI cloud ARR hit $43 million as of end-March, a 105% jump month-over-month, and management expressed strong demand from AI agents and enterprise workloads, Benchmark said.

"In the burgeoning subsector of hybrid bitcoin mining/AI-HPC stocks, in which many of the most visible names have already 'mooned' on AI enthusiasm, BTDR remains comparatively inexpensive despite possessing some of the same foundational elements that investors are now aggressively rewarding elsewhere: large-scale power access, vertically integrated infrastructure, and increasingly sophisticated proprietary chip development capabilities," Benchmark wrote.

Notably, BTDR continues to advance its proprietary SEALMINER A4 mining chip roadmap, with a 69.5 EH/s self-mining hashrate in March.

"The company’s vertical integration strategy reduces its dependence on third-party ASIC suppliers while allowing it to internalize hardware economics historically captured elsewhere in the mining ecosystem," Benchmark noted.

Bitdeer produced 661 BTC in March and boasts a total hashrate under management of ~78 EH/s. The Block previously reported that this figure makes Bitdeer the largest miner by total compute, ahead of

 On-chain data shows the Bitcoin Realized Loss indicator has remained elevated even after the latest surge in the cryptocurrency’s price.

Bitcoin Realized Loss Has Stood At $479M Per Day Recently
In its latest weekly report, on-chain analytics firm Glassnode has discussed the latest trend in the Realized Loss for the Bitcoin network. The “Realized Loss” here refers to an indicator that measures, as its name suggests, the total amount of loss that BTC investors as a whole are realizing through their transactions.

The metric works by going through the transfer history of each token being moved to see what price it was transacted at prior to this. If the last selling price was less than the latest one for any token, then that particular token’s sale can be considered to be leading to the realization of some net loss.

The exact degree of loss involved in the transfer is equal to the difference between the two prices. The Realized Loss calculates the sum of this difference for all loss transactions occurring on the blockchain. A counterpart indicator called the Realized Profit takes care of the transfers of the opposite type.

Now, here is the chart shared by Glassnode that shows the trend in the 14-day simple moving average (SMA) of the Bitcoin Realized Loss over the last few years:
As displayed in the above graph, the 14-day SMA of the Bitcoin Realized Loss witnessed massive spikes as the cryptocurrency saw price crashes in November and February.
Currently, the Realized Profit is sitting at $479 million per day, approximately 140% above the $200 million baseline that has generally been seen during stable phases in this Bitcoin cycle.

Bitcoin has reclaimed the low-$80,000 range and is again testing whether buyers can build support there. Yet it remains over 30% below its Oct. 6, 2025, all-time high of $126,198, according to live Bitcoin pricing.

The distance to the peak is the first constraint. From roughly $82,000, Bitcoin needs a gain of about 54% to set a fresh record.

Spot ETFs are again taking in hundreds of millions of dollars a day, but the old high still has to be treated as a supply zone to be cleared rather than as a price level that automatically reaches.
